Some Very Fedorable Insight On 7.00

Hello! It has been some time I know, but I've just now had the time to goof around with 7.00 and figured I'd write a blog about my thoughts (Since everyone is entitled to my opinion).

New UI
In keeping with the OSFrog philosophy of "If it ain't broke, thoroughly **** it up." The complete butchering of the UI was disorienting for me and absolutely unnecessary. The previous UI had all the info you needed with requring you to hold down keys or hover your mouse over a microscopic icon.

Ultimately, the changes mean I will have to learn how to play this game again.

Hero Remodels:
I love the new models for Viper and Slardar, but I didn't think that Enigma really needed a new model, especially when Jakiro is in desperate need of a visual overhaul.

Talents
I haven't had time to test out all of the talents (Though I've gone through Shadow Fiend's and while his level 10 talents are a tad redundant for those who favor the casual Yasha, the rest are fairly solid) but I find it interesti…

A Very Fedorable 6.89

Greetings From Exile! While I may not be playing Dota at the moment, that doesn't mean I've been away from the game or this site! Since the current trend is everyone making their own version of 6.89, I figured I may as well join in! Hope you enjoy! And I'll probably add more stuff that I recall.

General:
-Fixes a glitch where a hero called " Slark" appears in the hero selection pool.
This glitch is absolutely game breaking, I think this hero might still be in development since his abilities clearly aren't properly balanced yet.

- Elder Titan Is added to the game.
I really liked this hero in Dota 1 and I've been waiting for a long time for Ice Frog to add him in Dota 2.

- Silver Edge debuff (the break and damage reduction) are now dispellable by becoming spell immune.
PA, put down the Battle Fury and pick up the Black King Bar

NEW ITEM:
THE WABBAJACK!
Builds From: Level 5 dagon plus 1500 gold Recipe
What does it do? A more appropriate quest would be what DOESN'T it do? Each time y…

What a Random Turn of Events!

Why hello there! I bet you're all wondering what I've been up to! Even if you're not interested, too bad! Because I'm going to tell you anyways! Since I've apparently managed to get a month ahead in classes, I decided to play some dota this past week... with a TWIST!

Sure, some of you might be curious about the #roadto2k and rightly so, but after seeing what happened to our good friend Xyrus, I've decided to put ranked play on hold for the time being, in order to avoid the burnout or worse, lose the ability to have fun playing this game. (But if you MUST know where I'm at, you'll be pleased to know that I'm sitting pretty at 1.5K, the halfway point so to speak)

It's actually convenient that I bring up the whole 2k Quest and the brutal MMR burnout because it does segue more or less into the aforementioned twist I've implemented this past week. What could this twist possibly be? I've done nothing press the Random Button for each match I played this week!

Before I get too into depth, l…

The time has come for another Right-Click build and it has been far too long since I last made one. In the midst of school, ****-posting, dank meme expeditions and whatever else I've been doing in service to the Dank Side of the Dota, I've failed to bring you guys innovative, game-breaking right-click builds. But that ends today! For the focus of this build shall be the most cancerous hero in the 6.84 version of this game:

While Winter Wyvern may have gotten have nerfed and deservedly so, she's gotten some huge indirect buffs that have allowed to her to adapt to the 6.86 meta in ways that only I've discovered and will generously share with you!

Now here are some reasons I've decided to chose Winter Wyvern as the subject for this build:

-Superior Version of Sniper: artic burn at max level buffs Winter Wyvern's attack range all the way up to 1000! That means no one's getting away from you and I've prepared this build with the skill in mind!

-Farming ability: Splinter Blast was…

Weight loss aside, another New Year's Resolution I've made for my self is to get to 2K MMR! After watching MMR boosters, I came to realize that it is, in fact, possible to win games in a 1v9 scenario. It's all simply a manner of having a hero pool I am comfortable with.

As time goes on, I will be updating this blog entry or simply make new ones

Current Hero Pool

Ranked Games: 0
Solo MMR: 1362
Party MMR: TBD (Dotofire giff 5 stacks pls)

Among my 10 most played heroes, Shadow Fiend is the one that I feel best is suited for the task as I continue to build my hero pool. Despite the nerfs to his early game and indirect nerfs resulting from the reduction of Bottle's mana restoration, SF can still win a vast majority of mid matchups and has pretty good item flexibility.

I feel like having a hero pool of 5 to let's say 8 heroes for ranked, what do you guys think?
Should I learn the ways of the rat and consider working heroes like Tiny or Nature's Prophet into my "…

Dotafire-Tan!

I apologize for the momentary takeover of your internets, but I fear that I must interrupt your normal routine of ****posting, ranting about your mmr, endlessly bumping your recruiting threads that no one looks at and whatever you use dotofire for to show you what I have been up to recently.

As you all know, the Gamer Grill is an evasive being, to a point that most consider the "Gamer Grill" to be a myth (though there have been sightings of grills such as "SingSing" "Zai" and our very own ChiChi, the OGG or "Original Gamer Grill"). I, however, have been working on a little pet project in between class and other things to educate the normies about them : the making of Dotafire's own mascot and/or waifu, Dotafire-Tan.

Granted, I have merely completed this character sheet which I drew up in my character drawing class, but I wanted to, before getting too far on this, share this idea with dotofire and how I got around to making this thing.

It all started during one fateful expedition to…

Still not sure how the Chinese word for "cow vagina" has anything to do with a Spartan.

Despite having just formed in February of 2014, Newbee managed to make 2014 their year. While their crowning achievement came in July with their win of The International, Newbee won other marquee tournaments such as the MarsTV Dota 2 League and the 2014 installment of the World Cyber Arena, the latter of which they won without xiao8, the driving force behind their TI4 title run. By the end of 2014 Newbee had it all: money, trophies, fame, cars, women… for a …

First South American Team to qualify for a Valve-Organized event

SEA has Pinoys, EU has Russians, don't exactly know what the Chinese have to put up with (probably having to play on Perfect World), but like their Asian and European counterparts, North Americans have had their own scourge to deal with. An unstoppable force of feeding and high ping, known only as the Peruvians.

To some, the Peruvians are merely an annoyance, a factor that can be overcome by proper play and excessive reporting. But to those who've followed the signs, they know that the Peruvians are learning, adapting, and most terrifying of all, evolving. It all started at the Summit 2, when the Peruvian squad Not Today qualified for the event under the leadership of SmAsH. They may have been the first team eliminated, but that…

That title was but a lame *** attempt at a play-on words, because this blog post is the third installment in my right-click build will focus on the best hard carry everybody's been playing wrong:

Hamstertamer wrote:

No Black King Bar -> gets solo killed by a Crystal Maiden with no items.
Top kek = top rekt :)

Well guess what hamster- you can't get solo killed by a Crystal Maiden if you ARE the Crystal Maiden (it makes too much sense guys).

Anywho, let's gets down to the nitty gritty on why I chose to pick Crystal Maiden:

-Gamer Grills: ChiChi wanted to see this build happen and I'd be remiss if I didn't listen to Doto playin Grill, Grills like it when dudes listen... I think, I dunno.

-Farming Speed: The combo of Frostbite and Crystal Nova allows CM to farm at a respectable pace and as a result, you can get most of your items up relatively fast. Throw in a casual Hand of Midas if you feel like playing farming simulator.

-Strong, independent Carry Maiden don't ne…

The time has arrived for another right-click build on a non-right click hero. This time I will be doing Sando's favorite hero:

Yes, it is high time someone was dumb enough to attempt to make Techies into a right click hero and that someone is me. Now for a quick overview of why I chose to do a right-click Techies.

-Attack range: Techies boast the highest base attack range in the game, meaning that with proper items, they can kite and juke enemies with impunity. Furthermore, suicide squad, attack! means that when someone manages to close that gap on you, (i.e. Chaos Knight, Slark, every other mobility hero) you can blow yourself up, denying them the huge sack of cash that one would receive from ending your GODLIKE killing spree.

-Stat Gains: Techies actually have a pretty solid stat gains for an intelligence hero, with a slightly above average strength gain of 2 and nice int gain of 2.9. The sole problem is that Techies have a dismal agility gain of 1.3, meaning that 6-slot…
