What a Random Turn of Events!

Why hello there! I bet you're all wondering what I've been up to! Even if you're not interested, too bad! Because I'm going to tell you anyways! Since I've apparently managed to get a month ahead in classes, I decided to play some dota this past week... with a TWIST!

Sure, some of you might be curious about the #roadto2k and rightly so, but after seeing what happened to our good friend Xyrus, I've decided to put ranked play on hold for the time being, in order to avoid the burnout or worse, lose the ability to have fun playing this game. (But if you MUST know where I'm at, you'll be pleased to know that I'm sitting pretty at 1.5K, the halfway point so to speak)

It's actually convenient that I bring up the whole 2k Quest and the brutal MMR burnout because it does segue more or less into the aforementioned twist I've implemented this past week. What could this twist possibly be? I've done nothing press the Random Button for each match I played this week!

Before I get too into depth, let me just say that I was inspired by Safecyn (A self-proclaimed "Random Button" spammer) to try this week long experiment, so if anyone was harmed by my Random actions, you know who to blame.

Now, if you want evidence for the past week, you're in luck, because here it is:

So, I got my fair share of Dota games in and the Spectre spammage notwithstanding, it was actually refreshing and made for an enjoying experience for the most part. Yes, I still had to deal with afk jungling Lifestealers and yes I blocked every jungle camp with wards to boost their gameplay but that's stuff I've dealt with for some time now and the random heroes kept me preoccupied for the most part. I think might just add random random button spamming into my usual rotation of Lich, and Shadow Fiend spamming in the future and once I got some more heroes I'm comfortable with, I may yet be inclined to jump back into the trenches in pursuit of the ever elusive 2K MMR.

But if you haven't already tried, I suggest you try going a whole week of doing nothing but pressing the random button, that, and hope Spectre doesn't ruin your fun. If nothing else, it may narrow down the list of heroes you haven't played yet!
