How had she been reduced to this? She was once the Scourge of the Plains, a merciless leader of men and beasts, and able to sow terror wherever she dared. Now she was far from her homeland, driven half mad from starvation and months of wandering, her army long dead or turned to worse. As she stood at the edge of an ancient forest, a pair of glowing eyes spied on from an elder branch. Something beautiful and deadly sought a meal in the wilting dusk. Without a sound, it turned and left. Fury overtook her. Clutching a rust-eaten dagger, she charged after the beast determined to reclaim even a shred of her past glory, but her quarry would not be caught. Three times she cornered the creature among the rocks and trees, and three times she pounced only to witness its fading shadow darting further into the woods. Yet the full moon shone brightly, and the creature’s trail was easy to follow. Arriving in a clearing atop a high hill, the beast’s massive feline form sat in the open, attentive and waiting. When the woman brandished her dagger, the creature reared and roared and charged. Death, it seemed, had come for her at long last in this strange place. She stood, calm and ready. A flash of movement, and the beast snatched the dagger from her hand before vanishing into the forest. Stillness. Hooded figures approached. In reverent tones they revealed that Selemene, Goddess of the Moon, had chosen her, had guided her, had tested her. Unwittingly she had endured the sacred rites of the Dark Moon, warriors of the Nightsilver Woods.
She was offered a choice: join the Dark Moon and pledge herself to the service of Selemene, or leave and never return. She did not hesitate. Embracing her absolution, she renounced her bloody past, and took up a new mantle as Luna of the Dark Moon, the dreaded Moon Rider, ruthless and ever-loyal guardian of the Nightsilver Woods.
Skadi rush is good on any carry. It's just a greedy build because you rush such an expensive item but it works if you can get away with it.
I don't get why you would want such an item early, when it's main purpose is fighting fed melee(and ranged top some extent) carries lategame where the slow is very useful, but in early game I would rather get something more radical and game-changing like BKB, Manta or Blink.
The skadi is amazing mid game by 20ish-25min, the slow and the stats helps alot, even more after when you get manta and better illusions.
+ Shes doesnt really have a good cc to get the kills in the jungle when shes caught farming so skadi helps her win the fight.
Eclipse got a bump too. It can now target the same enemy more than once. So if you're caught alone with a tanky hero (say, Sven), using maxed-out Eclipse with maxed-out Lucent Beams will do 3000 damage over 5.4 seconds. And you can still hit them with regular Lucent Beams in the mean time. And you can attack. So, yeah, they're toast.
An OP Luna cuts through creep waves like a hot knife through butter. She's devastating against hero groups. I've single handedly held off a gank against my tier 3 tower by taking down the enemy creep wave with illusions and glaives then casting Eclipse to decimate the enemy heroes. They ran away crying.
Of course, the trick is to get her to an OP level -- not easy. Learn to farm like a champ. And make sure you get some team support. If you're team doesn't have your back you probably want to jungle some creeps around level 8. And whenever your Eclipse powers up, help your team gank. Luna can single-handedly turn the tide in a gank battle.
Also, damn she hot!
I doubt it will be Luna, considering in the DotA2 latest blog post, Valve started it out with "Hello Wizards" So i think that hints more at Disruptor, Rubick, or Keeper of the Light. OR maybe Nerubian Assasin, who counters casters.
True - it will be interesteing - I hope it isn't Luna, because she's not a meta changer - Keeper of the Light (though I don't like the hero) is a great counter pusher / turtle hero - and will be a meta change for matches also. As is Disruptor and CC skills.
NA would be good - but I doubt it as they have not even created the scripts for him yet.
None of the bounces will steal life, that is correct. Honestly Luna is a hero to watch out for in Dota 2 as her interaction with orbs in Dota 2 remains to be seen; she couldn't use any orb except for Lifesteal due to how bugged her Moon Glaive was.
Cheers - I wasn't sure tbh. I don't think they will change the orb effect interaction with moon glaives, that would be OP. Moon glaives will probably go down in D2 as a unique attack modifier already. (similar to wisdom glaives, burning spear, searing arrow, frost arrow etc) - Can you imagine what it would be like if moonglaives stacked with an mjo for example.. Add a manta in their and the DPS to the WHOLE TEAM would be INSANE.. +1 to you sir..
Luna will probably be the next hero to be released, with all the recent content update on her.
I think they nerfed her so the bounces no longer give life steal? Though I don't know - anyone want to comment?
