I was actually not aware that his Agh's upgrade redirected damage, hm. That makes him better, but still bad.
Put it this way:
One (1) cast of Aphotic Shield will swing a teamfight for 200 damage + 150 for every enemy Hero within 600 range. While removing debuffs. And it has a 6-second cooldown.
Abaddon rules early teamfights, and once he gets some items he rules late ones as well.
There are two kinds of people in the world; those who can count, and those who can't.

This statement is so ignorant so I'll have to ignore it as well. Just purging off any disable (except Doom) on a 6 second cooldown is bad. A 250 heal/nuke is bad. Curse of Avernus is bad for making teammates focus people (small scale Battle Trance). Borrowed Time for zoning people out, managing to retreat with your team, or bait enemies to use those massive disables on you and the team, then you can pop Borrowed Time and shield/heal/mek/pipe all your team for a massive turn around or even martydom (giving your team enough time to retreat while you Curse of Avernus everyone is bad).
Techies...only useful thing they do is die without giving gold. 8{(
I disagree.
He can:
1. Throw a nuke into a teamfight doing some silly damage in the midgame (needs Aghs, though)
2. Set stasis traps where fights will happen - providing a sickening AOE stun
3. Use mines/signs to direct fights away from places that you don't want them to happen
4. Suicide in to trade with a support (if you build a force staff this can get really fun) - and he returns faster to stage future teamfights
5. Bankrupts enemy supports and sometimes can prevent them from buying key items as they're always buying gems/sentries
All of his contributions are indirect - but I think he can be one hell of a situational teamfighter.
Storm Spirit with poor mana management is the worst teamfight hero, you jump in from miles away, you realised your Ball Lightning do no damage, you panicked in middle of teamfight as your mana pool is empty, skills flying everywhere and you died, then you constantly do the same thing and feed the other team, you get blamed by your teammate for constantly feeding the other team and fallen into a hell called low priority match.

I guess someone just had a bad game...
Anyway, even wiuth good mana management Storm Spirit is kinda underwhelming in teamfights. If he only has Orchid Malevolence, he kills one hero, and... no mana, his mana regen is just too poor and mana pool is too low even with Orchid. If he realised enemy will force fights and went Bloodstone first item, then it will get better after he gets some charges, but the impact would bethe same at start unntill he gets at least 5-6 charges.
It's not like he is supposed to do something other than stealing kills in early-mid fights anyway.
Unnecessarily sarcastic tone aside... it's obvious that we have different opinions and experience. In my experience, Abaddon's potential is rarely utilized (to put it that way) and so does not contribute considerably to team fights, compared to other heroes.
There seem to be some confusion to what this thread is about. Suggestions are usually met with responses along the lines of "Wrong, here's all he can do: ...". There are no completely useless team fight heroes in Dota - everyone can do something great within the right circumstances. So why not take a moment to consider why someone suggests a hero as the "worst team fighter" before you slam down all the reasons you can think of that he's not?
On topic: The worst hero in a team fight, ignoring roles, is in my opinion one that targets only one enemy and has no/few good disables or utility - in my opinion, this would contribute the least to a team fight. Lifestealer, Clinkz, Huskar, Nightstalker and Mirana come to mind. Slaughter away.
I saw it from live game, I just facepalm every time the storm do the same thing over and over, he just do no damage at all!
You will still need good mana management in late game because Ball Lightning is % based, so there is really no getting away with more max mana, although a higher mana regen helps a lot between engagements.
