I will definitely pick a hero that I am not familiar with. Something like Visage or Lone Druid. That will be fun.

Just be in the group chat at the right time (before 16:00 or before 16:25) and you're fine.

Right-click Techies is already a bit borderline because it doesn't fully respect rule 1 (it has to synergize with your hero, and Techies has no base damage and no right-click skills). I'm going to say yes, but that's very close to the limit. Just don't throw too hard :)
