Yea this all started just cause I would like to understand better and think out loud with other people why Arc Warden isn't legit including Necro since the part about the evasion triggered me. No more nitpicking nor offense, rest assured, let the last one be "you're making up stuff" because ofc XD

Why is it just so hard to actually discuss stuff in dota fire nowadays btw? Every time something slightly interesting appears we either have to say the same as everyone else or we're bashed to the head and have to discuss into oblivion in useless circular arguments and still not be taken seriously. Right now even Reddit becomes more of an interesting option if you want to actually use your brains and learn dota, and that alone means something...

I love to be called out in stuff like this, keep it up Hamster, call me out when you think I'm not reading skill descriptions, that surely will help both of us greatly improve, more than any real discussion would ever do.

Nothing matters in the end; everyone dies and is forgotten eventually. You don't discuss things because they 'matter'. You discuss things to while away the seconds.

Irregardless, I played Arc Warden in 6.87 in a single draft game, and was shocked as to how not-useless he was. Flux is still grade-A levels of ********. While he really doesn't carry as well as Terrorblade which is his best comparison, he does have a fair amount of carry potential, and Magnetic Field is a good pushing tool. There's bound to be some lineup Zet excels in, and I'm sure it'll be worked out eventually. Probably with Tiny.

I completely agree that it didn't matter. Besides, I think we already had that Zet discussion. Since there's nothing new to see, re-hashing it is only a way to get salty.

@Tera I think Reflection is overall better than Flux tho. At least when fully leveled. Problem with Flux is that it's a bit too easy to counter (illusions, summons, purges, etc). Same thing as Desolate, it's really bad against anything with illusions or summons, but it's far worse because it can get purged, so ultimately it's as useful as an orchid...so not that much. The skill was pretty OP before, mainly because it pierced BKB and was too good at level 1, but now it's honestly balanced.

Before the nerf, Arc Warden played around itens that give high impact and had high cooldown, now he needs itens that have low cooldown and still have some impact.

Just build it Bloodthorn + Scythe of Vyse ,
Go mid, farm Orchid Malevolence and gank people with Flux + silence, after you build Silver Edge so you can initiate(And 10s break can be fun late right ?), after that finish bloodthorn, and then Vyse, the reason is you can double chicken enemy so they wont dispell you, even if they dispel just do it again with Tempest Double, this might work against carrys that dont build Bkb.Also Mjornl is still a great item on him and synergy with this build so its ok pick one later on.

Flux is still good so they wont kite you, his nuke is meh, but the new Magnetic Field is ****, maybe Dragon Lance can help a little but still is ****

Completely agree. The thing is, there aren't that many options of low cooldown items outside of Scythe of Vyse.
It's either that or Dagon/Eblade :)




I agree. Actually if this thread didn't derail into pointless discussions I'd have talked about that. IMO it's the least bad build on AW.

Bloodthorn has perfect synergy with everything about the hero. Makes his 2 sets of Necronomicons crit if you buy one ( Lycan's got nothing on you), the synergy with Scythe of Vyse is even better than on other heroes (since you can keep them hexed for 5 seconds you even get the soul burn damage from BS every time if you want). Pretty much the Furion build.

The issue is still the fact that the build is pretty greedy and takes some time to come online, and with the field nerf AW can't properly counterpush anymore, and his farming speed is slower. So you need to snowball, playing this from behind sounds pretty bad. That's the main issue I have with the current AW. He can't defend his towers with field anymore, so if you fall behind and the enemy team starts pushing, it's just GG.

Well it's either that or Radiance/ Manta Style...which actually would still work fine if there was a way to know your clone's cooldowns before summoning it. AFAIK there is no such thing though.

Actually, want to buff Arc Warden? Turn him into an INT hero. Being an AGI hero with garbage AGI gain is probably the worst thing anyone could ever be.
