Intro

Dota 2 is a scary game to newer players. They have to memorize skills, items, item builds, and almost everything. While it's true that almost all games need memorization of the mechanics, dota 2 is harder because of the 100+ heroes (400+ skills) AND items, and how to combine them. Well, with this, you just need to figure out the skill build, as almost every hero have a similar starting build, if not almost identical.

I'm not an expert in Dota 2, in fact i'm still a newbie. I feed constantly, sometimes i roflstomp in pub but those have only been 2 times. What i have, however, is theoretical knowledge i gained from reading articles and experimenting in the game. Regardless, i'll try to make this as good as possible.

1. This is just theoretical analysis. In-game experience may (most likely will) vary.
2. This guide assumes a typical pub play, with its uniqueness and quirks.
3. This guide is very generalized, more so especially because this helps with using almost any h…

When you hit midgame, and teamfights start to break out, a whole new level of dota emerges that goes far beyond farming, harassing and ganking. Teamfighting requires not only good items, but also effective positioning, effecient focusing, and skill synergy. But, like any sport or even war, there are more to fights than just numbers. Players themselves get affected by being focused, disabled and being low on life.

So, today I will focus on teamfights, and on what could metaphorically be called the Morale Bar, which is actually the HP bar.
Consider a teamfight. Skills fly, right-clickers click, and pretty soon you see your HP bar falling below the half-way mark and still fall very fast. Your mindset at the start of the fight was, 'let's own them all'. Now, however, you start to feel a bit more 'scared'. Not real fear of course, its only a game, but you fear for the life of your character. This will make you more inclined to flee, and less inclined to stay in the fight. The lower life …

I'm so new to EVERYTHING! Which is why I'm writing this! Not sure if anyone's going to find it but if you do, and you're making guides please make a dota 2 console guide; how to activate, good commands et cetera :-)

I would but I have no idea how to make guides and I don't really have a lot of experience with dota and even less so with it's console!

Pretty please!

Hi all,

food for thought is all - Huskar. Let's face it - in reality Huskar is a rubbish carry - he may get away with a few pub stomps, but tbh farm with any other carry, and you would stomp much more.

Semi-carry, early-mid game carry? perhaps - but even then, there are plenty of better mid game stompers, like Balanar, Barathrum, QoP, pudge, who at least have a presence in the late game.

so what dfq do we do with Huskar? I propose we make him a lane support hero. An aggressive trilane support hero, who builds pipe's, mechas, force staffs - even an agahnims. take the durable part of Huskar and focus on it. Let someone else farm. He can level burning spears early, harass like mad while your carry farms freely. Add your 3rd hero like venge, cm, tide and any other box standard support, and you have a good lane.

Now you would need to be an aggresive trilane (ie trilane your long lane, senti top, scourge bot) and ward the camps aggressively. Cuz in the short lane, you would be against…

Snowballing

Snowballing is a concept where once a hero gets enough momentum, they become much more stronger (relative to other heroes at that stage) due to that momentum. The general definition of snowballing can be found here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Snowball_effect)

In DotA2 snowballing can be used in many different contexts. When a hero is said to be good at snowballing this means that when the hero gains enough of an advantage (usually in early or mid game) this allows them them to completely dominate the enemy team. When a team is said to snowball, this implies that due to a teams certain composition, when a team acquired an advantage they are able to keep (and increase) this advantage.

Note that heroes that snowball are not the same thing as Carries. Carries are heroes that scale very well with items (and hence they become quite strong late game when they acquire these items). On the other hand heroes that snowball are ones that are able to maintain and increase their mom…
