abyssal on terrorblade

So I've played terror for a while now but I've always wondered why abyssal isn't used.

I want to discuss it because I feel that terror gets outcarried by bashing heroes.

Eye of skadi is a very effective in demon form but when demon form is on CD then void or any melee carry with a basher can roll on you quite easily.

Discuss stats and utility versus a different fifth or sixth slot

I don't think TB cares that much about bashing heroes, since almost 2/3 of his damage comes from his illusions not from himself. If the main hero gets disabled the illusions will still hit extremely hard.
Conjure Image illusions deal 60% of his damage and he has 2 of them. Manta Style illusions deal 33% of his damage and he has 2 of them.
In total his illusions deal 120 + 66 = 186% of the main hero's damage.

So I think the best late game items are items that increase illusion damage. So Butterfly / Daedalus sound like the best choices, as well as items that make the main hero more survivable. Against a guy like Void it's better to buy tank items like Heart of Tarrasque or Satanic on top of your skadi so that you can survive chrono.

So no, abyssal is not a very good idea since if you want to manfight a hero in melee form giving your illusions crits will always be better.

Void is more or less useless outside of chrono. So build HP items to survive chrono (and Sunder him if possible) and then go full illusion damage/AGI items to kill him quickly after chrono ends before he can escape.

I think Terrorblade's 6-slot inventory is more or less set in stone. Boots of Travel, Manta Style, Eye of Skadi, Butterfly, and then choose two between Heart of Tarrasque, Satanic, Daedalus, Black King Bar and Monkey King Bar depending on what you're facing. And maybe Linken's Sphere one game out of 100 or something.

Since the hero has absolutely no synergy with Abyssal Blade whatsoever - it only works in melee form and you shouldn't be fighting that much in melee form anyways, it gives nothing to illusions, and the active is melee range and you don't have a Blink to actually land it - you're better off buying a Scythe of Vyse if you really need an additional disable.

You'll buy it if you need the disable really badly. Since, at minimum, the item is 100 damage, and a BKB piercing stun. The stun itself is game-winning in the late game.

It's like a more situational Linken's Sphere. You'll never want to really build it, but a BKB piercing stun will simply be the best option for your sixth item in some game.

Terrorblade doesn't really need one because he can already avoid kiting with an Eye of Skadi, plus he's usually in ranged form when teamfighting. Also, if they haven't patched it yet, I remember that illusions could proc the bash "debuff" which does nothing but prevent you from bashing the target for 1.4 seconds (since illusions can't bash enemies): that's why you don't build it on Chaos Knight.

Lastly, if you really want a hard disable, a Scythe of Vyse is better most of the time.

As others have said, don't get Abyssal on Terrorblade. It's almost always better to get a Sheepstick. Same goes for MKB actually - if they only have 1 evasion Hero, it's better to get Sheepstick than MKB.

Your potential 6-slots are:
Travels (always, get these after Yasha if farm is good)
Manta (always)
Skadi (always)
Butterfly (almost always)
Satanic
Daedalus
Linkens
Scythe of Vyse
Monkey King Bar
Black King Bar (if you *really* must. But it's pretty horrible)

Well MKB at least has the benefit of cancelling TP scrolls. TB has no way to cancel TP scrolls now.

BKB isn't horrible. it allows you to get Sunder off without getting stunned or silenced.
