That's a real guide to Anti-Mage by LuminousInverse
Quote : "Anti-mage is one of the most versatile carries in the game due to his ability to adapt to different game states". "The most important aspect of playing a successful Anti-mage is utilizing the degree of versatility that this hero offers. Don't be constricted by a single build or set of items and learn to adapt to different situations at hand"
Truth is, AM is a very adaptable carry who really thrives against high magic damage/high mana pool heroes.
People who think Bfury is core in every game are the very reason why this hero has the worst winrate ever. The truth is, Mana Void completely wrecks teamfights 20 minutes into the game with a fast manta and AM is perfectly able to fight with low farm such as a survivability item like vit booster or urn + a manta. His skillset is completely mid-game focused and he has very strong teamfight presence with his 500 AOE ulti.
I used to find AM completely boring/unplayable at some point but as soon as I realized this and started to go either safe lane with the slahser urn/wand/manta build or solo mid against melee heroes like Pudge, I found out how good this hero actually is. F*** magic, that's what he's about, not f*** creeps.
Anyways sry for off topic gonna let you answer to the OP Kappa.
EDIT @ Dimonychan : I play AM mid in bot games with manta rush and I always get 3-4 manavoid rampages every game. You play him like a QoP, he's really one of the best bot-stompers in the game. As I say battle AM is really the best build against high mana pool/magic damage enemies.
I find his ulti too situational for "battle AM" to be fully legit. WIth Manta Style AM bursn around 1000 mana for 3 seconds on solo target(+ spells, but usually int heroes without big manapool/int artifacts have around 1000 manapool anyway), it is 800 damage in 500 AOE - quite a lot yes, but it is too situational - even in games with bots I played(and bots just loooove clumping together) I could only get a maximum of 3 heroes affected by it. So you have to:
a)have opposing lineup that will let you burn mana freely for 3 seconds
b)have them clumped in 500 AOE not in front, but in back of the fight, which is quite rare
Quite possible, but overally seems underwhelming.
On topic:
Awful gameplay, learn to play scrub kappa.
what are the alternate builds for anti mage
All I heard was DK burning build.
I mean what are the progressions? Aside from battlefury what can you go on him that makes him remotely viable at 25 minutes into the game?
Rush manta seems ok. But what else?
