So, I was thinking about Diffusal Blade on troll since we can stack stuff now. The problem that I see with that is the fact that it'll delay his other important stuff. I'm just not too sure if it's actually worth it or not.
Why is troll almost never picked into comp? I mean his ult is really strong for the rest of the team, and with some kind of items he can almost destroy everyone. Obviously there are stuff like Ghost Scepter, but still, why? My little guess is that a t3/t2/t1 team is organized enough to deal with it, but I don't think it makes much sense in an other way.
Alright, I thought of something.
What about Silencer, Anti-Mage, Keeper of the Light, Troll Warlord (diffusal), and like Nyx Assassin? For me it just looks so strong... Like it would be a destroying pub composition. As right as you want to kill the dude, you can't because your mana disappeared, ***** ME*
Diffusal Blade is generally better on Illusion Heroes or anyone who needs the Active. Illusion Heroes will naturally land more Attacks per second due to Feedback coming from multiple sources and it's the only Orb/effect/whatever it is now, that Illusions can use anyway.
You can get it on Heroes like Riki or Ursa if you feel you can stop your targets from escaping with it, or against Warlock/ Ghost Scepter.
You could get it on Troll Warlord and play him in a similar way to Ursa, but I feel there's usually a better Item to get (I still believe in the FATA Mek Troll! >8{D ).
It's definitely legit to use diffusal for the slow. Besides, screw you Ghost Scepter.
However what Troll really needs is a way to get in melee range of any hero because he needs a way to use his melee attack, so if you ask me Blink Dagger is a core item on him, just like it's a core item on Ursa. No matter what item you get ; whether SnY, diffusal, shadowblade or whatever, Troll has huge kiting issues. Get a blink, kiting issues are a thing of the past.
@Xyrus : Troll has about 230 max mana, no way mek will work anymore, if it ever has.
Granted, you lack the ability to jump in and lock down without a Blink Dagger, but even with it, Troll still pales in comparison with Ursa at that playstyle. I prefer to play Troll Warlord as a Deathball Hero, focusing more on taking Towers down than Ganking
Troll is a midgame carry kinda like Phantom Assassin. Really strong with a couple of items and can bring a lot to the table without requiring a ton of farm. Still good into the late game, but not Medusa or Spectre strong.
He's so good at that deathball strat, like Xyrus said, because of his ult and passive. If you use your ult in a teamfight and win, it should finish cooling down in time to help push the tower afterward. Unless the enemy team buys back, a Battle Trance is almost always good for at least a tower, even if you only have a couple of heroes present. To top it off, it's global so you don't even have to be there. You can solo Roshan while the rest of the team pushes, using your ult for both.
Personally, I wouldn't have a problem with Diffusal. Omniknight and Ghost Scepter can be annoying to deal with and you have enough attack speed to really put a dent in some mana pools. I would definitely want to follow up with a Manta Style though.
I think Troll is quite underrated, honestly. Like PA, he has free evasion early in the game so he can be really hard to contain. He also has five spells and an armlet-like ability that can give him a health boost when needed. He can solo rosh almost as fast as Ursa and Lycan (not quite as fast, but faster than PA), and he can farm and push quickly.
I think he compliments a farming mid like Naga pretty nicely, since he can fight early on while they build their cores and get off the ground. Late game he still has some utility and fighting power, but they should be farmed enough to win the game.
FATA mek troll is bad(unless you play him mid, but then again, there's much more useful stuff to get). Real way to do is get a Maelstrom ASAP so you keep up with the enemy carry while ganking as well.
