I think is the best support due to his versatility. He's a nuker, excellent at harassing, gives armour, slows and controls the creep waves like no one else. Best all round support, biggest problem is he doesn't scale well.

I reckon should also be on the list as he is a great hard support, maybe not so good in lane but overall he is good if played well, micromanaging can be a bit of a pain though. -_-

So to find one I like do you recommend I just play them until I find one I like?

Also, are all supports squishy due to them having to buy consumables etc.?

Not all supports are squishy, for example , and are pretty durable. Also, not being able to buy items is an issue as well, since they'll always be in disadvantage.
