Woah, why has Juggernaught suddenly gotten the ban? He's tamer than the other 3 for sure, and not as commonplace a pick anymore. Competitively speaking at least. Like he's not a first stage pick and ban anymore, and hasn't been for a while.
And also I'd like to inquire is this going to be a trend in all patches from, that the meta heroes wind up getting banned, simply because they are the most picked/highest priority heroes? Or is it simply because in this meta they are relatively less skill intensive than in prior ones?
Put me down as unconfirmed for Sunday. Would say Saturday, but I'll be recovering from a hangover in preparation for a new one.
Afraid I almost certainly won't be able to make it this week :(.
Personally I support the ban on "overpicked/popular" heroes as you see them enough in pubs/ranked/pro, and it's nice to have a more relaxed game with more variety. However, not everyone necessarily see these games that way!

I think it's essentially because the current meta is incredibly boring, so people want to avoid dying of sheer boredom from seeing the same heroes everytime.
I think it's more about meta heroes than OP heroes, personally I don't think either Juggernaut or Sniper are OP (unlike Troll, Storm and to a lesser extent Axe who are 100% getting nerfed in 6.84 and who are going to be remembered as the biggest imbalances in dotka along the old Void and Terrorblade)...but I'm still happy that Jugg/Sniper are banned because they are cancer heroes who tend to suck the fun out of the game.
Essentially I want to be able to pick original/unusual heroes without the fear of them being bad against meta heroes. Like, who can play Lone Druid, or Leshrac these days with all the trolls lurking around who can own them just by pressing two buttons :)
Also, why don't we get hamster to join us to show us why Sniper is not OP
I don't know yet if I can come or not. I probably can't actually.
Still, as long as I'm not facing heroes such at that guy with a zero cooldown zero cast time global range blink that does 1200 AOE pure damage on hit with highly reduced mana usage thanks to the grace of Icefraud...I've got no problem playing against the annoying dwarf :)

I already discussed this in the last inhouse thread. If it's a popular meta Hero that is highly contested (Picked or Banned), that is almost certainly going to be Banned in most games in the inhouse (which Axe was...every...single...game, during the 1st Ban Phase, Jugernaut was let through once or twice, but I don't think he was picked up even once), then there is no point leaving it in the pool. It's just going to cause the Drafts to become stale as everyone rushes to Ban the same Heroes every time.

There's also this ^. Removing the "obvious" Bans encourages more creativity in the Drafts.
If it was simply about removing OP or Meta heroes, then Axe would have gone out in the 1st week along with Sniper and Troll Warlord, and as Sandvitch says, Jugg would still be in. It's purely about making the Drafts more interesting by removing Heroes that aren't going to see any play anyway.
And also I'd like to inquire is this going to be a trend in all patches from, that the meta heroes wind up getting banned, simply because they are the most picked/highest priority heroes?
Once the new patch comes out, all Heroes are back in the Pool. If there are no heroes that constantly get Banned (at least 3 out of 4 games), then there'll be no more need to remove Heroes. Otherwise, yes we'll ban a couple of Heroes each week until the 1st Ban Phase of each game doesn't look the same in all other games.
Compare this to the 2ndmost popular Hero in the Meta, Batrider, who was picked up once, then Banned once or twice (this is out of the roughly 10 inhouse games we played last week).
Well, storm did win just about every match he was drafted in, except for one or two.
He was only picked in 3 or 4 at most, so his winrate isn't that good. He was Banned a lot, but since he actually saw play and lost, there's no reason to Ban him at the moment. I think he'll be a little less contested next week, but again, if a Hero that's strong in this Meta that keeps getting perma-Banned in the 1st Phase, I'll consider removing it.
I honestly think you should keep it at these heroes, because where does it stop then? The heroes that are disallowed would be firstpick/ban pretty much every game otherwise.
The rest wouldnt, if a hero gets banned a lot now its just because those other 4 are gone.
For example of we ban storm then we should also ban bat for example, or venge, or lion and it goes on and on.
