What do I need to do in order to join?
For now, all I need is:
Your DOTABuff account - (If you don't have one, go here http://www.dotabuff.com/pages/enabling-statistics). You don't need to if I have you on my friend's list, but I won't know who you are when you turn up if your Steam name is different to your DOTAFire name. You can either post it in the comments below or tell me it's in your profile
Confirmed/Unconfirmed (can you definitely play at this time or not?) Don't hesitate to put yourself down as Unconfirmed, there's no penalty for not showing up, especially when you're only saying you might show up. Also be specific about which days are Confirmed/Unconfirmed. With the inhouse spanning 2 days, you're gonna have to be a bit clearer, e.g. "Confirmed both Saturdays", "Confirmed Saturday + Unconfirmed Sunday", etc. If you out yourself down as Unconfirmed, but later find out you'll definitely be coming that day, you can change to Confirmed if you want.
When do you intend to join & leave (in Luxembourg time) - If you can't make the very start, feel free to put yourself down for a later time. There's no guarantee the inhouse will still be goin later on, but if it is, you're more than welcome to join in the next game. If you have to leave by a certain time, e.g. you need to leave at 18:30 Luxembourg time, then we can always try to fit you in to earlier games. If you think you might not be free after a certain time, but may be able to carry on playing if something doesn't come up (e.g. powercuts), then put yourself down as Confirmed from "xx:xx" to "yy:yy" and Unconfirmed from "yy:yy" onwards. You can put yourself down for 16:00 if you want to join the Pre-game. <}3
You need to be in Steam Group Chat by 16:25 - If you aren't a member of the DOTAFire Steam Group, you can join the group by simply clicking the Green Button on the Group's Homepage - http://steamcommunity.com/groups/Dotafire
Once you're in-game, in the Group Chat and I've told you the password, go to "Find Match" -> "Find Lobby" -> "Private Lobbies" and enter the Password into the search bar.
You need to be in the DOTAFire Steam Group Chat, and in the lobby by 4:25 (see the next spoiler tag on how to join the DOTAFire Steam Group).
By 16:25 CEST, if you're not in the Group chat, not in the lobby and I haven't heard from you, we may start without you!
This is to prevent any delays, so make sure you're ready to start on-time, or you'll have to wait for Game 2. I will join the DOTAFire Steam Group Chat around 16:00 CET, so if you experience any last minute delays, you can talk to me there.
If there's a few people around at 4:00 we'll have an All Mid All <insert Hero> game until 4:25, if there are 10 Confirmed people in the lobby by 16:00, we may just start early. 8{D
Aside from that:-
Try to have your computer switched on and get any updates for DOTA2 downloaded by 16:00 CEST, remember - we start at 16:30, no later.
Make sure you can keep playing for at least an hour and a half, if you're not sure you can play a full game, then just spectate
I'll post the password for the lobby in the DOTAFire Steam Group Chat at 16:00 and 16:25 - do NOT message me in Steam for the Password (I'm going to start ignoring anyone who does that now, the spam is just ridiculous -_-)
Keep an eye on this thread, including the Opening Post, as anything can happen in the space of a week, so changes might be made, I'll post below if I update anything though
There's no MMR requirement or anything, anyone is welcome to join so long as they're DOTAFire members, just don't be an arsehole...unless you're a DOTA Knight! 8{3
There will be 1k players and there will be 4k players, if you're 1k, please listen to any advice you are given and try to prevent having the 4k players repeat themselves, but 4k players should bear in mind that 1k players will often struggle with the basics and may need telling a couple of times before it sinks in
Pause, please!
In general, each person should only need 10 minutes of pause time per game.
If you think you might need a quick pause during the game, e.g. you're expecting a delivery, we can always pause for a few minutes, but this does not give you any extra time should your internet connection drop for example
but unless you have an unforeseeable technical issue (e.g. your internet connection starts screwing up a bit), 10 minutes is the limit
If you want to get a drink or go to the toilet, do it between games, there is a 10 minute break in between games, so take advantage of it and at least stretch your legs
If you're not sure your internet connection is going to hold out for the next 90 minutes, join a spectator slot and see how it goes, you can always play in the next game
Do you have time to play?
We rarely have anything longer than a "60" minute game (not including time spent paused), but make sure you have at least an hour and a half to play each game, i.e. you should be free until at least 18:00 CEST if you plan to play in Game 1.
If you need an adjustment to the start time of the 1st game, then post below and I'll see if it's okay with everyone participating. We've done it before and we can do it again <}3
I wanna watch/Cast
Anyone is free to join to Spectate, so long as there is room for them. If you wanna try Casting a game, that's also fine, but Casters need to leave a comment below, just so we can make sure they get their own channel. If you want to invite a co-caster, feel free.
The only rule for Casting/Spectating is that you don't spam All-Chat. It's fine for anyone to strike up a conversation/smacktalk with the players during a pause, or say "GL HF" at the start of a match, but once the game gets going, All Chat should almost never be used. Remember, there is a spectator chat in-game for a reason.
The Game Mode for this Inhouse is regular Captain's Mode, once we get 10 people in the lobby, ready to play, we scramble them into what we hope is a fair matchup, then 1 person from either side Drafts the lineups.
If you want to be Captain, then say so in a post below, just make sure you have an idea for a Strat to run before you start Drafting and make sure you can take a little criticism. If no one calls it, then I'll choose 2 people to be Captain before we start the game.
Since the meta is heavily geared around certain Heroes, to keep the Drafts interesting, Troll Warlord, Sniper, Axe and Juggernaut are banned by default (i.e. you don't even need to bother Banning them in-game, since they're not to be Picked anyway). The Bans are based on the most popular Heroes of the Meta, and are mainly banned since it is unlikely that they will be let through the 1st Ban stage if left in the pool.
Confirmed for both days pls no Kenkka bans or I go feed.

Apparently there is no Inhiouse for this weekend, but I am sure people can play more oftem than once in two weeks. I have had a desire for a CD inhouse for a while now, so can I host it and publish the from topic or should I bribe Hades for a Mod title first? 8{O
Unconfirmed both days, could we please get a ban on Storm Spirit?
He's usually banned but sometimes picked. I doubt the Captain's will let him through if they feel they can't handle him. If he gets Banned every single game in the 1st Wave (like Axe was last week), I'll probably perma-ban him from next inhouse.

This is actually covered by the official rules (the ones in the Inhouse Rules thread). It needs to be done 5 days before inhouse is due to start, so it's a little late now. You can always host it for the week after next though, just PM Hades first.
