We all see Bloodseeker on pubs. We all see them (usually) build Force Staff. I really wanted to know if there was something about the matter that I didn't - because even then when Staff was the second most const efficient item in the game next to Armlet, I hated it on him. For the price of a Yasha, you get around 400 damage on a single enemy who has to be in your ult. Your level 3 ult in fact. Well at least that's what they use it for. It MAY be used for escaping and occasionally initiating, but why do people still using it for that less?

Should Force Staff still be made on Bloodseeker?

I find Force Staff slightly overrated. It does remove the easy way to counter his ultimate (slightly), but the mana is completely wasted on him and the utility isn't that great. He already has great chasing power with his passive, so it can really only be used for initiating or escaping early ganks (as you said).

I never build it on him. I just go damage/aspd to combo with his rage skill.

Personally, I didn't like builing a Force Staff on him because I used to get a Bottle and I didn't need the extra mana at all; the chasing feature is useless because you have Thirst and the force-ulti thingy is overrated. If you're going to build carry items ( Manta Style, Mjollnir, Butterfly...) don't pick it.

But, after the new patch that makes Rupture able to pass thorugh BKB, it could be a viable choice if combined with the right items: I've recently tried the Urn and Phase BS with no Bottle and went great, the mana was always enough to pull off my ulti almost every time it was off cooldown. After building some utility items ( Drum of Endurance, Black King Bar etc.) I felt I wasn't noticeable in teamfights and, as my mana was always low, picked a Force Staff: I must say, after you hit level 11 (or even 16) it's absolutely worth it, especially against a team made of squishies with trapping abilities ( Sprout, Power Cogs, entangles...) but you have to use it just for dealing the killing blow or you might end up letting the enemy go onto a cliff or something like that.
PS: the Urn of Shadows + Bloodrage DoT, combined with the strong extra damage from Phase Boots, is terrific for early ganks and killing supports.

Still, an early Force Staff is terrible. Start building it just if you've already reached level 11, if you want to pick it.

Buying Force Staff on Bloodseeker is so worth it... NOT! Sure, Force Staff may increase the damage of your ultimate by about 300 or so (which is equal to a Dagon1) when you're Level 16 and grant you a weak escape mechanism, but the problem is that it could be spent on much better items. But if you really, really want to build it on Bloodseeker, do take note that this item build only happens on pubs and not in competitive matches.

Yesterday bloodseeker got buffed a bit.
His rupture damage is now Hp removal, which means it goes through magic immunity, damage is same though.
And thirst now gives you armor.

Won't be able to Force Staff the target if he BKB's though, so still doesn't make Force Staff viable.

I agree, Force Staff is not that great on him. However,it can be still used as helping allies,so don't disconsider it in any way.

Bloodseeker is being played by Quantic Gaming ( dd Dota ) right now in The Defense 4. His first items were Blade Mail and Force Staff.

Was he played as Carry or Semi-Carry? The Force Staff is obviously still a useful item for its utility, so in a Semi-Carry roll I can see it more viable.

I haven't seen a Bloodseeker in about 75 games, and I don't ever recall one grabbing a Force Staff. I'm not in High Skill, either, so I don't know about this. He's just so easily countered in the first place that anything you build him with is pretty redundant unless you own so hard in the laning phase that there is literally nothing that can stop you. Like this match that I played a long time ago (iirc in the stupidly-low bracket of play, back when I was good enough to do well but bad enough to be in the easy mode realm) that contains my highest GPM, XPM, and Kills. I think, personally, he works best with a right clicking build centered on hitting yourself with Bloodrage. I'd take mid and max Blood Bath, one point in Thirst, then Bloodrage, taking Rupture when you can. In the end, if you ganked right, you'll have enough gold that you can Rupture and enemy, Bloodrage yourself, and hit so hard that they'll die before they can even consider NOT running.

yeno Force Staff isn't good on him unless you're building a Semi-Carry Nuker, and even then I like Ethereal Blade better because it amplifies damage. Yes, it does slow and it does disable your right clicks, but I'd use it to finish off an enemy, not as a follow-up to Rupture.

(and now my dotabuff makes me look like I'm both someone who plays Bloodseeker and someone who is actually good with him. I'm neither so disregard my opinions)
