You don't prioritize armor just like you don't prioritize HP on supports, they are the added benefits, but almost never the main selling point. You'll just have to deal with the armor loss on tranquils as a support because going for Veil/Medallion/Mak/whatever for "muh armor" is plain stupid.
Glimmer, Force, Ghost, Eul's are all relatively cheap items that offer way more effective survivability than any armor/EHP item will give you as a support.
So yea as a support I'd rather have 1500 hp 5 armor and force/blink+glimmer than 3k hp 20 armor and neither of those.
I'd still buy Tranquil Boots on CM - between them and your aura you have unlimited sustain for both pools, and the speed is better protection than increased mana pool. Sure, it's nice to always have enough mana for your ult, but I wouldn't change my build yet.
The armour thing I do understand, but it's a pisser for supports who build Tranquils, having 0 armour and 5 armour is a BIG difference to being able to survive a couple of hits. There's not really anything with good synergy for CM that gives you armour now, Veil is about the closest I can think of - and as you all say, I'd generally rather have a Glimmer Cape and/or Force Staff.
I'm just a random 3.2k player, so my opinion probably doesn't count for more experienced people, but I never go Tranquil Boots on Crystal Maiden unless I'm having a really bad game, and even then what I value the most is the health regen. When I play against a lot of right-clickers I just go brown boots into Ghost Scepter, and if things go south I just become a spooky ghost and tp out while the enemy Lifestealer watches.
Then again, 3.2k. When I spectate 6k+ games, all Crystal Maidens I see are piss poor and have Magic Wand, Tranquil Boots, maybe Wind Lace, and they try to build Glimmer Cape (and sometimes they fail at that). In my mind, if all of them play like this, it must be for a reason.
* Winter Wyvern: Level 15 Talent increased from +40 Damage to +50
* Winter Wyvern: Level 15 Talent increased from +15 Movement Speed to +20
MY ´´NOT A DRAGON´´ CARRY IS SLOWING GROWING OUT OF HIS EGG
* Shadow Shaman: Level 10 Talent increased from +175 Health to +200
* Shadow Shaman: Level 10 Talent increased from +20 Movement Speed to +25
* Shadow Shaman: Level 15 Talent increased from +30% XP Gain to +35%
* Shadow Shaman: Level 20 Talent changed from +20% Magic Resistance to +3 Shackles Duration
* Shadow Shaman: Level 25 Talent changed from +3s Shackles Duration to +350 Ether Shock Damage
This guy got absurd and no one is talking about, his 8s shackles is got even early and it can have up to 720 range with Aether lens. The other thing is he gain a Finger of Death as a level 25 talent, one could argue that is better than the 1 more Hit for snakes, as it will die very fast anyway. He should support a bloodthorn carry or build it himself so the enemy cannot dispell it and be critic to death.Still **** on lane though.
Lina Bloodstone build can go **** itself, go back and **** itself again. It is for people who insist to play her like the old days, Rod of Athos and Hurricane Pike are the way to go.She does need the regen, but instead of bloodstone you can build a Scythe of Vyse or an early Bloodthorn.
Other things i thought are: Aura Sven slowly buffed, Razor buffs are ****, Rip Alchemist, rip queeling blade + Iron talon, rip tranquils.

Hand of Midas CM is actually very popular, both in competitive and in high level pubs. This is no patch for broke CMs.
A support like CM gained an lot and lost almost nothing from the midas change.
Hamster is right that almost all high level CMs go for Hand of Midas. Where I don't agree is that I think the item was actually nerfed for her, they didn't get it for the gold, they got it for the XP (it was great in ensuring you had all your spells maxed asap and talents on top of it), so now I think it's not as good as before. They will still get it though, probably.
Basically I was dirty poor as always, did a nice ulti that got me enough gold of it, then proceeded to survive three Duel initiations and got my spells out before I died (died after), easy teamfights won - 3 DUELS ENTIRELY ON ME without her being disabled AND I DIDN'T DIE =O
It made the teamfight switch completely and the Legion Commander hesitated on going on me after, it also helped walking away from Templar Assassin without being 3 shotted.
I'm doing this now everytime I'm against the likes of disgusting armor line-ups, doesn't mess up too much with your build anyways because it's not that expensive and offers that easy added survivibility until you manage to the the Ghost Scepter.
@Sofa I would never ge Tranquil Boots + Wind Lace now, waste of a slot I'd say, you're already pretty speedy.
Ah, Shadow Shaman buffs: because high level games were still not playing the hero. It is a greedy support that doesn't work well from behind and that fell off too much having his disables completely blocked by Black King Bar (a bit like CM), while enemy cores kind of easily farmed the snakes late game. They keep buffing him to try to actually make him a more viable hero. I agree with that, seemsgood. Let's see something like a #3 Shaman please.
I think the item was actually nerfed for her, they didn't get it for the gold, they got it for the XP (it was great in ensuring you had all your spells maxed asap and talents on top of it)
CM isn't very level dependant. At most she needs all her basic skills maxed and level 2 ult. That would be level 15. She doesn't even have the mana to use level 3 ult when she skills it :)
While with gold she can get stuff like BKB, glimmer, ghost, force etc which can make her a pure pain to deal with.
"At most she needs all her basic skills maxed and level 2 ult." = That's it precisily it though ahah
She is played as a #5 in high level too, which means she is starved. You don't want to max Frostbite before Crystal Nova, but at the same time you don't want to wait till your enemies have BKBs for that and now with the root buff it's sooooo good, and you want the Aura maxed too... So yea "you want it all", that's the definition of "level dependant" :)
I would say she isn't item dependant at all by contrast, but indeed the more she has the better (especially in pubs).
As for the moving you're right, she's a sloth no matter what you do with her :D so no need to stack more AS, that's what I mean, it's irrelevant anyway ahahah
tbh I have no idea what you guys are talking about...
When I play CM I end the game with boots + glimmer, either force/ghost scepter and a million clarities.
Most of the time I don't even upgrade my boots, let alone have money for medallion and urn and stuff like that...
About the midas though, I could see it work if you suddenly had an influx of gold early on. I'd say you'd have to get it pretty early for it to be worth.
Also with the 2k gold you could've *almost* bought a glimmer/force/blink/ghost + cloak.
I really dislike not upgrading her boots because it makes you have zero sustain. If you're a CM you don't need to ever go back to fountain for mana/HP if you have Tranquil Boots, and you really need a bit of extra speed not to feed in the early game when you don't have a mobility item yet...
Glimmer Cape, although being super good, is not awesome every single game - there are exceptions. I just showed you for instance a game I had against an Axe and a Legion Commander, where we had Riki on our team so there were sentries and dust on everyone. If I'd gone Glimmer I'd be useless and feed up to the mid game, I wouldn't be able to get enough money together for the Ghost Scepter, and even if I did straight away how would it prevent the Legion and Axe from initiating on me from fog and killing me? This way I survived those initiations, winning enough time for my team to react and turn the fight around them, while I still get my spells off before dying. I love that new option on Open Dota where you can see the story of the game btw, had one recently that was going even until two teamfights straight where it said "enemy team killed CM and they were wipped in return" and my team took two sets of barracks and won the game, worf XD
The whole "all you need with CM is good positioning" is a very pretty story, but if you're playing against good adversaries it's just not gonna cut it to be walking around with no extra HP/movement speed/armor :)
This applies pretty much to every hero. I personnally like Urn of Shadows for instance certain games because it helps you get that extra HP, extra mana regen to complement your aura and sustain for your friends in team fights. I finish many games just with boots, Urn and something else too, it's not even like a play a rich Maiden. You always need something to not be bursted super early, some players do Magic Wand every game, others like Bracer. But btw why would you need a bunch of Claritys until the end of the game? Isn't the point of CM that you don't need that? If you need burst mana for ulti for instance it would be far better to have a Magic Stick or even a Enchanted Mango. If you have two points in Aura until later and you have any other mana item you'll fill up after teamfights super quickly anyway...
