Nah, I'm sure some other heroes are more trash with a Midas :)
Midas Enigma? GG.
Midas Pudge? GG.
Midas Anti-Mage? Report noob AM.
Midas Chen? Gotta farm dat daedalus because hero only really shines in the late game xD

I mean I'd definitely put SF in the bottom 10 Midas heroes in the game. But at least if you're playing safe lane SF and you can get 5 minute midas why the hell not, gives XP to compensate for dual lane/trilane etc.
It's just, Midas is the "how to miss your timing window 101" item by definition, and SF is one of the heroes that it hits EXTREMELY HARD so SF mid should just never buy this.

I think I have a perfectly legit record with SF, like 60-70% WR or something, I love the fact that he wins his lane pretty easily even against the most cancer mids like Viper if played well, however since that bounty rune nonsense I'm a bit scared of picking him because of roaming so I don't play him anymore.

Nah, Midas is fine: being in a low level pub game where no one stacks jungle creeps, it's the best way to get farm and levels on SF (unless you go safe lane). I really like getting that quick level 14, especially because as an SF you shouldn't gank often and stay in lane until you get at least your Blink/BKB. Shadow Blade is way worse in my opinion.

I agree I shouldn't have bought it every game, but most of the time I lost because of the rest of my team or because the enemy team outplayed us. Also, if you look at the gpm/xpm discrepancy you'll see it has done its job more than once:

Peppo, you're not having high GPM because you have a Midas, you're having high GPM because you're playing Shadow Fiend.

http://www.dotabuff.com/heroes/economy

Top 1 average GPM in the game. Significantly above Antimage and Furion. The hero *himself* creates the farm not the Midas. Double raze oneshots creep waves. Armor reduction makes farming jungle a pinch. Midas in comparison does very little.

Triple raze deals 1K damage. A perfectly landed lvl 2 Requiem of Souls does about 2K damage. I don't get why you would ever want to AFK Midas until lvl 14 with a hero like that.

Honestly, I think it doesn't hurt his playing syle that much. I like Midas on a lot of mid Heroes, mainly Venomancer and Invoker, but I occasionally buy one on Outworld Devourer, Viper and Warlock as well: as they usually don't build critical items for the mid game (of course I don't go Midas on Viper and OD if I have to pick up a Mek) and benefit a lot from levels, I think it's a very good way to get gold when you can't flash farm. True, Shadow Fiend can flash farm with Shadowraze, but not when you have a Morphling, Tiny or Luna in your team that farms the jungle in your place. I would blame my team composition more than the Midas, but in that period I really wanted to practice Midas SF because I could rely on my teammates (though they weren't stacking camps) instead of solo queueing.

Cursed heroes thread has now turned into SF Midas thread :D.

In the current meta(lets assume the game goes to lategame) I can't decide whether midas helps or hurts. On one hand it has plenty of time to pay itself off and could get you farmed for late game. But you could also try to go for midgame items and try to stifle the enemy carry from grabbing all their lategame gear.
About SF, theoretically you could get a HotD and just stack camps for yourself.
I got to Notable, Thanks!

Every thread turns into a massive hijack sooner or later. :D
About the HotD: that's true, but maybe I'm giving too much importance to jungle stacking when all you need is a Bottle and a pair of minutes in the jungle every now and then. It's just that I've seen so many people going Midas (both in pro games and in my skill bracket, which is very high according to dotabuff) I think it's a waste not to get one pre-8 minutes. But still, that was 8 months ago...

Returning on topic: Spectre anyone? I've only won 1 out of 3 games with her in my last 5 months, though my win as a 7-slotted Spectre (I had to sell my Radiance) (I KNOW IT'S A BAD IDEA FOR ILLUSIONS, but the extra HP from Skadi is awesome 60 minutes in) made up for all the losses.

SF Hand of Midas is fine in my opionion too. Its all about the levels. As said before you want as much exp as possible. And it fits the playstyle I tried which I saw on the pro scene.
The first core item is Eul's Scepter of Divinity. It gives nice MS, the manareg lets you spam razes all day and most important in conjunction with Blink Dagger (next item) you can go on a perfect Requim of Souls which one shots most of the enemies ( Die Slark).
With this build you use the max of your spells and cause you hit like a track either way midgame youre midgame oriented but cause youre SF and with the help of the Midas you are prepared for the lategame as well
