in general heroes that rely on their "illusion" skills to do damage deadalus is a poor itemchoice, since illusions olny profit frome base-damage (meaning all the damage they get via their main-ATTRIBUTE). The +81 bonus damage from deadalus would be completely lost on Pls illusions for instance. Afaik illusions cant even "crit" - even though crit numbers and animations are occurring the dps doesnt increase!
Radiance somehow deserves special mention though: As said - the illusions dont profit from the bonus damage from this item, but the radiance burn is functioning the very same making it a very powerfull tool (especially) on spectre to initiate teamfights with haunt. Not only can you make sure to damage EVERY opponent with your radiance but also disable PKs on important initiators such as enigma and sandking.
But, as every1 else also said, you usually want to go for heavy stat-items on illusion-based heroes; namely Manta, Diffusal, HoT and Skadi.
Yeh i know. Im not that new, just wasn't sure about this separate instance of dmg since it isnt really written anywhere ingame.
And illusions do crit, just the dmg is reduced after the multiplication.
Nothing has said but a good way to multiply the crit way is taking a double Crystalis, it works especially on Kunkka. The fact is that is low cost to build with only a 1200 gold amount for the more expensive item. Still I dont think that Radiance is core on Spectre such as diffusal, vanguard.... Since is only damage and I'd rather something that give more stuffs before radiance, such as manta and heart to be more durable. I wouldn't go for a daedalus on spectre at all, as mentioned the reflected damage is the key, and the slow of diffusal is really useful. Maybe you could try the daedalus on Spirit Breaker, after having a decent attack speed and mask of madness

I don't agree with that at all.... I dont think you know how Spectre works with radiance. When Spectre casts Reality the radiance damage is applied to all images but does less damage since it's only illusions. The exact same method could be applied to Phantom Lancer though the radiance effect does not stack, so the strongest effect would deal the most damage.
The reason why Daedalus is extremely good on kunkka is the fact that with his Tidebringer it does frontal AOE damage with a radius of 600 at level 4. Along with the effect of Tidebringer his basic damage along with crit is also included in Tidebringer so by stacking Daedalus it increases the crit chance, so he would obviously crit more frequently, but stacking 2x Daedalus does not mean it will be 2 times more efficient. just like evasion, Daedalus has diminishing returns.
With the ability to cleave for practically 1000 damage in a giant 600 radius in front of him, that's alot of damage on all targets giving him the ability to clear a creep wave.
Vanguard is not a good item on Spectre unless you're farming so well you can afford it, but otherwise i would not recommend it. Personally, Vanguard only works well on certain heroes, such as Bristleback since he is considered to be a tank. Spectre requires damage attack speed and some survivability which would be a heart but survivability will come into play later on as we know that Spectre is a hard carry.
Radiance is undiminished on illusions, same with manaburn from diffusal. Spectre illusions do 2/5s damage from their agility stat.
Are you okay? If Radiance and illusions are undiminished then that would be the same for physical damage and daedalus. That would make Spectre core item a radiance and it's definitely a situational item depending on how the game is going. As for Diffusal Blade it is infact diminishing return or else it would make Phantom Lancer extremely overpowered!
Please go test it for yourself if you do not trust what i say. Believe me on this i know majority of the game mechanic as i've played dota for many years. Why do you think i give critical feed back against every build out there? I play the devils advocate and teach people to think outside the box!
Even though radiance is undiminished, it's definitely still situational.
I've never seen that link before in my life! that is an extremely useful link but it says nothing about radiance being undiminished. As i said before, images receive a reduced effect of the any aura, so its not 100%, instead it would be something along the lines of maybe 40% same with feedback!

Radiance is undiminished for sure.It deals the full 45 damage per second with each illusion. It obviously does not stack, but it is insanely useful. That is why it is considered core in some builds.Same with Diffusal Blade.
Feedback (only works on melee illusions) - gotten from the link
