They let Leshrac go through... over-confidence(which is a loss) or a pocket strat(i hope VP ban Anti-Mage)?

It looks like they found the Leshrac counter.. BKBs and physical damage ^_^ Although that PL pick seemed risky into a Lesh..

I think it's actually the armor reduction that counter hims (that Templar Assassin pick and domination). I mean, if you just focus on Leshrac with enough armor reduction, his nonexistent base armor basically makes him explode in a second.

P.S: This is more important than I initially thought because later in the tournament they can just let Leshrac ban pass through again. Then, if the enemy team takes it they can just revolve around this counter, while if the enemy team does not, they can just pick the Leshrac, I'm sure xiao8 has a strategy to counter the Leshrac counter.)

It's only long duration BKB's that counter Lesh. He really doesn't care about like 5 seconds one, because he can survive that long, and then start dealing out massive AOE damage.

The issue in that game wasn't that fresh BKB's and physical damage countered Lesh, it was that BKB's countered the entire line-up because they had no physical damage, and very little pure. A 10s BKB on both the PL and the TA at the same time crushed them. If they have a physical damage dealer who can make stuff happen whilst the big BKB timings are up, and bridge the gap between Lesh's periods of dominance, then that's an entirely different game.

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.

Maybe is just too good, and Illidan is too bad.

Enemy heroes try to burst you down with -armor and Laguna Blade with BKB activated
@
Better buy Octarine Core instead of Shiva's+surplus for BKB and Ghost, I will heal so much in 0.000001 seconds I'm alive

If he went Shiva's he would have much more survivability, he could get gold in fights(aside from 2700 he saved by not going Octarine Core) and afford himself BKB and then Ghost.

God's Orchid was questionable as well, but his main goal was to cast a good ult, so it didn't matter that much.

Aside from that, both God and Illidan died alone away from their team at least once, and LGD did very well at that Rosh fight by killing both supports quickly and securing themselves a fight.

My statement is still correct? I don't see what you are trying to refute, they simply couldn't fight into two 10 second BKB's, and got wrecked as a result. Ghost Scepter wouldn't help him with ****, he's against a PL, a natural diffusal builder after all.

He went casual Platemail, and then raw HP with the Octarine Core (Or the other way around, but he did have both), which given you couldn't rely on Ghost Scepter, and BKB would help with so little there; There were what 3 elements of CC it blocked? And very little magic damage given Laguna would become Pure and thus you get more value by just having more HP?

They simply needed a hero who could do something whilst BKB were up at long durations, because nobody else could really do anything except like Bane, and QoP but Bane's grip could only deal with one of the two cores, and the team would just cancel it or not care. And QoP ult alone would not be enough. That or get really good disengages and burn the BKB's down to low durations, but that's really hard for there line-up.

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.

I didn't like the last pick QoP.. Like you guys mention, they needed some physical damage.. something like dusa or slark would have been nice for Illidan..

Along those lines, CDEC is surprising everyone :O

Who are you writing this to, i wasn't even arguing with you lol.

But anyway,

he wanted raw HP? Get Shiva's finished(worth as much as Soul Booster) and get a Point Booster or Ogre Club;

Ghost Scepter wouldn't help him ****, unless he had BKB... oh wait, I actually said BKB-Ghost; =)

BKB would let him not getting LSA'd after Lina's Eul's and then being burst down(you could also do it with Eul's, but Illidan didn't do it so his Eul's pickup was a waste of gold), it would let him have Ghost Scepter on, it would render PL harmless while it's active even regardless of Ghost, if anything, it alone would do much better than Octarine anyway;

Who cares what they needed at that moment, heroes were picked 40 mins ago, play with what you got and pick adequate items, enable cpt. Hindsight after you win/lose a game;

Oh yeah, I forgot, Eul's was not needed too since the only reason to get in on core Leshrac in that particular game is to dodge LSA, and he didn't do it.

I assumed you were directing at me, since you just did @ without naming it, and it seemed like a counter pointed to what I was saying.

Also the situation I'm talking about is one they probably could've forseen, you know that BKB's are going to come out at some point, and that's the point where your 1 position is at his weakest; you have to have a plan to deal with it. It's not uncommon in professional games for players to coincide item picks to get maximum effectiveness so you have to have a plan in place to deal with it.

I won't drag the thread out any longer by arguing about the semantics of the item pick-ups, since we have fundamentally different views here, in that I think the casual Platemail -> full Octarine Core was better here, since Shiva's wouldn't directly help kite against a PL and blink TA. Since the former doesn't care about the move speed slow, and the later can still gap close.

But anyway, apologies for mis-construing the direction of your post and unnecessarily starting this argument as a result.

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.

Were EG just outdrafted? It seems they genuinely didn't expect the Offlane Bounty, and that makes Treant a substantially weaker pick.
