To start of I am not saying that Leshrac is op. In my opninion in this patch there are no real op heroes in the game (apart from Meepo ofc-Icefraud nerf pls). However, Lesh comes pretty close to it.

So yesterday I had a game where I was forced to play Morphling mid because someone randomned him and said he would feed if I wouldn't swap.
The enemy Leshrac dominated us. From the very first minute.
We built Black King Bars but he only laughed at our futile attempts to stop him and he reduced us to our elements. I tried to consider the possibilities but I had no idea how to stop him and he just went on stomping us 1 vs 5.
That's why I am here dear Dotafire community. I want to have your ideas and thoughts on how to beat the pony of dead. Enlighten me and I'll keep it in mind.

Tl;dr: Leshrac pwned me. How to stop him?

did you consider taking Orchid Malevolence? also get Dagon + Ethereal Blade to take him down to his knees (since he needs to stay alive if he wants to 1 v 5 the whole team meaning he is using Pulse Nova to max potential by not killing him first), or maybe take Scythe of Vyse?

I agree. The way to get him is to take out his source of damage, which is solely magical. If he's dominating, build every thing you can to stop that damage from happening: Orchid Malevolence, Scythe of Vyse, Black King Bar (I know you bought them, but they may not be enough, so don't consider it 100% magical insurance), Pipe of Insight, Glimmer Cape (people underestimate a lot it's active of 55% Magic Resistance Bonus and think only of the invisibility part of it). These, coupled with a disable and focusing him first, should be enough to quickly bring him down, since he has no escape mechanism and he is indeed kinda squishy (at least until he gets his Bloodstone + Octarine Core). If you see he is being played as a core, try to smoke ganking as much as possible, to delay this items on him, and he will be crippled seriously in the mid to late game.

If you have the opportunity to do so, picking Ember Spirit in my experience works pretty well. The magic guard + radiance effect, combined with his damage and Leshrac's stupidly squishy self early game gets you to snowball pretty hard.

Leshrac's biggest power in fights is that all the damage he does is centered around him. This is why people build him so tanky, so he can stay around you and dish out his damage. He will build a Black King Bar so he can stick around even more.

Solution? Make him unable to move. Rupture. Bloodseeker.

Well, 6.84 is probably the most balanced dota patch in years, but yeah, Leshrac and Gyro are, I think, the strongest heroes of this patch.

As for Leshrac, he's the type of hero you want to counterpick. Sure, you can try to gank him if you have enough burst damage, but he has a lot more laning presence than other carries due to his high burst damage, so if you screw up, which tends to happen in pubs, it can get a lot worse.

As he doesn't naturally build any armor items, not until Shiva's way later, he's quite vulnerable to armor reduction, and almost all armor reduction spells go through magic immunity. If you put armor reduction plus a ranged dps hero like Windranger, Clinkz, or Sniper, Leshrac will fall to pieces. Leshrac, like Undying, would not be able to thrive if Sniper did not receive his massive nerfs.

Huskar is also a great pick, having his anti-tank ulti, because Leshrac is a tank. The magic resist from Beserker's Blood makes him great against Leshrac as well for focusing him down. For more funsies, go for Mage Huskar build, with Aghs, Veil, Dagon, so Leshrac dies before his massive sustained damage does anything.

And also, Pugna, who, although rarely a good draft, can be worth it just because Leshrac expends so much mana. It will force him to go BKB earlier often, which can be good to delay his key items like Aghs or Bloodstone.

And killing his mobility, as Wulfstan said works well too, as the hero is just like Death Prophet with less downtime, he's gonna be prancing around you, reducing you to your elements. Keeper of the Light with Mana Leak can be pretty good before he gets Bloodstone, and Bloodseeker is good too as long as he feels the damage is significant.

Just me or is Tusk really strong this patch? Anyway, a good Leshrac counter... Silencer... Duh. He has a stupid amount of harass and mana drain, which will wreck an early Leshrac, plus when he gets his ult, that's a silence for a couple of seconds, so you can take him down in that time, then build an Orchid On him, which is pretty good, and that's another silence and damage amp so... Yeah complete counter, although nobody ever uses him.

Or Antimage... No mana, no spells, no wreck. Simple. Plus he has built in magic resistance.

Hi... could you link your dotabuff so we all get to see what happened?

Some things about Lesh:

He has really low armour. If he's building damage, then he has no armour.

He needs to snowball.

Some counters: Juggernaut: High Physical damage, built-in magic immunity
Vengeful Spirit: Minus armour, good stun, can prevent snowball via ganks.

Where AM is good against lesh in theory, he really is more of a double edged sword. The problem is, that AM has very little early game contribution, when leshrac can easily push towers and limit the farming-space for hard carries in general.

Silencer dominating lesh in lane, is also only partially true. Curse of the silent on its own, doesnt bother him thanks to the spamability of Lightning Storm. A last word + curse combo is hard to sustain and lesh simply is better at controlling runes. Its a ~50/50 matchup if you ask me.

I have to agree with wulfstan. Lesh is very reliant on moving arround, so a Rupture, (pre-bkb) Mana Leak or all of Disruptors spells screw him over completely. Magic resistance in form of Glimmer Cape or Pipe of Insight and ofc Black King Bar seems to be the most effective way. Hard Lockdown/nukes also work very well....as they do against any sustained dps heroe.
