Some may argue that he has weak manfight potential as compare with other carries due to the long down time of his ult and his low AGI, but so far as I can see lycan heavily relies on ult, just like void. The critical strike, unstoppable movement speed even being hexed are really powerful and he can melt someone while in wolf form, if you can't then you must have done something wrongly.

Yeah, and Void's considered underpowered by non-trench players. And a fully farmed Void doesn't even need chrono to destroy people.

It's just... Doom has a better crit, the same damage aura, much better primary stat gain=more damage from aura, farms faster, and has better utility. If I was after a rat that could fight, I'd pick Terrorblade or Naga or Morphling. Lycan's wolves don't even scale!

People really seem to be underestimating Lycan's ability to team-fight.

It's not so much just him, it's the fact he's a hero who rushes a Necronomicon and then buffs the minions with attack speed, lots of damage, and beyond max move-speed.

Like, a Necrobook 3 minion with Feral Impulse and Howl (Both maxed) is suddenly hitting for about 120 base damage I believe (75 base damage + 22.5 from impulse + 20 from Howl), and burning 150 mana per hit as well. Whilst the Archer when it right clicks deals 176 damage instead... Which is kinda a lot.

Along with the wolves suddenly hitting for 85 damage before crit, you can see that he actually brings massive amounts of damage to a team-fight. Damage that's extremely hard to deal with early (Because you know, Necrobooks are scary things). Oh and I'm ignoring Vlad's in these calcs, but yeah, that's a thing too.

And when you can more that fast, well you can't really be forced to fight anyone too strong for you to fight, and can thus pick your targets better than any other hero in the game, giving your team a big early advantage in the fights. (Oh and you bring 250 extra damage to fight with Howl but hey). One that almost no other hero brings to the table, even if they have better steriods.

Like I will agree he's not the best late game man-fighter, because he's not meant to be, but early to mid-game? Well you are extremely powerful in fights, because you are at a relative prime and other cores aren't. Sure, you can also split push and get a tower, but Lycan can probably help you win that team-fight, and still take an easy tower off of it, such is his pushing prowess.

Otherwise, I'd agree that Lycan should lane, and not jungle, since he does get more farm from it. However, I want to suggest you get a value point in Howl at level 2. It's 14 global damage, and helps swing lanes in your direction at the press of a button, and yet I rarely see people get that bonus which is stupid in my eyes.

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.

Wolves are usually better at level 1, because they can scout out where the enemy will be for the rune spawns, see if they are invading jungle ect ect.

If you are going for a level 1 fight though (Or at least you know they'll be invading the jungle and thus want to fight them), then Howl is a little better because you know 14 extra damage on everyone.

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.

it kinda depends but i would say that more often howl is better since wolves are very weak at lvl1 anyway. and howl helps other lanes as well.

the wolves dont go invis and get 2 shot very easily.

wolves better if you jungling, so that you can deny the uncontested rune (if any) or harass the warding support or something.
