Dear all,

Since I have a older mac, I've been playing DotA2 on its windows version I installed, because the mac couldn't run the game properly.

Unfortunately, now I'm having problems with running the game in the windows disk also, because I'm out of space in the disk and a windows installed in a mac is not exactly the same thing as a pure windows...

My question to you would be: what do you think are the specs necessary to play DotA2 without a fuss, even if in low quality? I mean the cheapest specs possible, because I was thinking if a computer around 300 euros would be enough (since it would only be for DotA2 and, if possible AVA too).

Thank you in advance!

Minimum Spec:

CPU: Info
CPU Speed: Dual core from Intel or AMD at 2.8 GHz
RAM: 4 GB
OS: Windows 7
Video Card: nVidia GeForce 8600/9600GT, ATI/AMD Radeon HD2600/3600
Sound Card: Yes
Free Disk Space: 8 GB

You probably want to come in a little above this if at all possible. Even the lowest end CPUs should meet minimum spec, if you have any spare cash at all, spend it on the graphics card as this is where you'll see maximum benefit.

The issue might be that you struggle to find a PC that cheap with a discrete graphics card, which is what you want really. You might need to buy one with enough space inside the case and PSU power to run a low end one, then buy and install it yourself. Alternatively, a reasonable spec hybrid CPU (such as the AMD A10) looks like it can do a job without the discrete GPU if necessary.

Yeah a used PC or ebaying some parts might be a good option here when your budget is so tight, I had a quick look around and struggled to get anything new for that price.

I can run dota on my 500€ i5 laptop so any desktop with i3 and external graphics card should be fine.

I am playing with 2GB DDR2 RAM and a GT630. Guess it can also work on a toaster.

yeah, i love the fact that dota 2 can run on the potatoes so efficiently.

I currently play on my macbook air 2014, but i also used to play it on my 7 year old babe.

Do you need a monitor too? that will cost a lot of money.
