Bloodthorn Morphling

Hey all.

As you can probably tell, I've been playing a bit of Morphling lately. Now, in most of those games, I've been really hesitant to buy Monkey King Bar - not only is the damage inconsistent, the item doesn't really fit well with Morphling. On top of that, it's usually just 1 carry on the other team with a Butterfly or something.

And I really like Daedalus on Morphling.

So, why not Bloodthorn? You would go Crystalis first of course (unless you're going shotgun, you could possibly buy Orchid Malevolence first), and it would solve your tiny mana problems and give you a nice active. Plus, Morphling has enough attack speed to make good use of the active.

Bloodthorn can be a really devastating item. Its only flaw is that 7k gold and the fact that its easily dispellable. Now, if only it also allowed the spells to crit ....yeah, broken af. Too much imba I guess :V

Bloodthorn is a good late game counter to mobile cores that don't buy purge items, like Slark, Storm Spirit, Windranger, Queen of Pain, Weaver... In this case you can force their BKB whenever you want, which is a really good thing.
Also deals with annoying supports like Dazzle and Oracle that need to be CC'd in every teamfight.

However Bloodthorn synergizes best on heroes who have a native stun or who buy Scythe of Vyse on top of it.

So it's situational to shut down some very specific heroes, but don't forget that Crystalys crit is far weaker than Daedalus crit. If you want guaranteed damage, crit or even MKB are always better.

Actually i see synergy with strengh morph btw, replicate enemy carry, the replicate actually deals insane damage because of Bloodthorn efect, stun him for 4 seconds and he will not have a chance to dispell it :0p, but it is a crazy idea, with a late guinso it would be impossible for him to dispell( or maybe just buff the ability to have 5 broken seconds :0P)

Also you could hybrid a Clinkz and deal insane damage ( wish you could active the hybrid whenever you want, like Rubick speel steal, but again this is a crazy idea).

Btw Bloodthorn is the best item Frog has created so far, gives espace for many cheese builds( like Brewmaster Necromicon+bloodthorn)

If you stun for 4 seconds you deal no damage. You can morph AGI at only a rate of 16/second.

Scythe of Vyse Morphling is a thing of course, and if you get one you should buy Bloodthorn on top of it definitely. It's still less damage on a marked target than having a MKB and a crit, but then you have a sheep.

By the way, Bloodthorn + Scythe of Vyse on every hero? Seriously I'd build that stuff on guys like Lifestealer anyday personally. So much better than nerfbyssal blade.

You dont, Hybrid some carry like Clinkz or Ursa(maybe Lone Druid i don´t know if double bear works, probably dont) and deal damage with their steroid, you have infinity mana anyway and also Hybrid has only 0,25 cast animation.

The only problem is you needs to stay with your carry for it works, it would be viable if Hybrid worked like Rubick spell steal and you could active whenever you wanted to( not sure if broken tier).

i do this build(Bloodthorn+Guinso) on Beastmaster :0P, also on Naga Waifu

not sure if would do on lifestealer, his bat got increased to 1,85

That's super niche though. And even then your hybrid has no way to get in position.

However I completely agree with the Bloodthorn cheese builds. This item is just so much fun. Here's another one : mid Winter Wyvern rushing Bloodthorn. Winter's Cursed hero gets critted to death in a second XD
