Now that blyatcycle got a revamp, I've realised that he could be played as a support. You can boost your carry's last hitting power and give him more lane sustain with blood rage, deal a lot of damage and silence enemies with Blood Rite (though it might require some set-up from said carry), and set up ganks after level 6 with Rupture. I've tried this with my friend and it worked, at least during the early and mid game because we got a whiny Earth Spirit who played badly on our team and let the enemies snowball out of control. Then my friend got a sudden power cut and disconnected for the rest of the game, but we were going to lose anyway thanks to our ES.

Yes, definitely, for me he IS a utility semi-support like Enigma or Dark Seer now. I never really took the hero seriously as a right-click carry even when Bloodrage *did* give additional right-click DPS, but now his skillset is 100% the skillset of a utility hero so I don't see why I would want right-click items on him anymore.
He can jungle very efficiently now, making jungling his primary role I think.
Since his main role is initiation and buffing allies, he can now make a ton of utility items, like Mekansm, Pipe of Insight, Blade Mail, Eul's Scepter of Divinity to stop TP scrolls, etc. I think you'll get way more out of a build like this than out of a right-click build that is a bit outdated now.
Another possible build though : Force Staff/ Ethereal Blade/dagon. No, I'm not trolling. When Bloodrage gives +40% damage when cast on yourself AND +40% damage when cast on the enemy (yes the two bonuses stack multiplicatively), going for full pew pew nuking power is perfectly legit now. "Having max level Bloodrage simultaneously on Bloodseeker and the enemy allows for up to 96% amplification." Thanks doto wiki.

Hard to say at the moment quite where he'll end up, but a semi-jungling semi-support would seem possible. Ofc he lacks a slow or stun, so is reliant on allies to do most of the actual damage, and being melee usually makes for poor zoning.
So, not a babysitter, but a useful "third man" who comes out of the jungle into lane to help secure kills and isn't leaching too much XP. Blood Rite could even work quite well in 3v3 lanes, although I think you'd need to tailor the rest of the lane compo carefully.
If he buffed Dark Seer and he used wall, would the illusions to bonus damage?
Nope. Only damage directly done by the hero is buffed, illusions controlled by a hero and the hero himself are distinct damage sources. For the same reasons it doesn't work for Spectre.
I think Bloodrage is best used on heavy AOE damage dealers, e.g Invoker.
