Thing about roaming with Io is that you need a hero with kill potential. Like you have a Nature's Prophet in the oflane. The hero can't solo kill someone, unles he outplayed the support or something like that. Let say furions lanes against a dual lane and is level 3 or 4, so he has a level in Sprout. You have an Io who is roaming, but mostly babysitting mid and stacking camps. The exapmle comes from previous patch but is still viable. So the Io is just level 2 and has theter, Overcharge and a Bottle. The Io can come top theter to the prophet who sprouts the enemy carry while the support was doing a pull. toghter with the Overcharge and the Io rightclicks he killed the carry. The support rotates to the lane and get killed to because he gets rightclicked down by a Nature's Prophet with increased movementspeed, attackspeed, reduced damage taken and hp and mana restored.

This is an example of a gank I did with Io and I have way more of them. Io is ****ing crazy when roaming, people just don't know what the hero does. He turns early fights really hard!

Io is also really strong when you play him with another roamer like Tusk or Earth Spirit. Just start roaming at level 1 and own every other lane. However if you have no combination with your io for the early game you litterly have a ranged creep in your team.

So saying that io does little in ganking pre 6 is not true at all. Io awakes the ganking beast that hides in every hero. Like actually you can do a level 1 ganking squad Io, Spectre and it will even work in pubs, as long you know the spectre and you are communicating with him.

Hades, you know what's wrong here?
We have small issues that do not deserve opening a new thread and they don't fit anywhere else. Enter ****posting on official ****posting thread.

As a suggestion, we need a thread to post all Dota stuff where we feel opening a thread is not warranted

ok programmers and othersuch friendos help me out.

how much power would it take for you to create one room... ONE room that is fully interactable.

by this i mean the 5 core things.

1. things are things and can be acted upon.
2. things ACT the way things should act when acted upon.
3. things that are acted upon adhere to the rules of the engine/world they exist in.
4. things react relativistic to the extent they are acted upon in regards to the world/engine they exist in.
5. everything looks ( to at least some high degree) like things should look.

so for example.

i am in a room with a desk chairs table bed wardrobe such and such. i can make the bed, move the bed scratch a wall throw a pen write burn break smash wreck fix and destroy everything and anything. each thing reacts realistically to being acted upon. i throw a chair softly at a wall and maybe it makes a scuff mark, i throw a chair hard the leg breaks. i staple the pillows the to wall and they hang there, i rip them off and the they get ripped open.

how hard is this to program/how much computing power is required/ is it even possible?

I WILL DESTROY YOU ALL.... WITH FLUFFY BUNNIES

I don't think that is possible at all, at least not for plain mortals. Maybe if a bastard son of Turing and Dijkstra is given a super-powerful computer and a lot of time to implement it... in 50 years or so, maybe that'd be possible.

This depends on how realistic you want the engine to be. If you want an almost 100% realistic engine, I think that'd require defining how different materials act, probably on molecular level(or rather clusters of moleculae since even if you take 1 pixel=1 molecula things would be extremely huge). The way I see it, you either simulate real physics to it's very core or hire some monkeys to define every possible interaction you could think of. Frankly, I think the former is easier to do even though it is tremendously hard to implement such a thing.

Maybe Sando will tell you more, I think I've read he's a software programmer somewhere.

It'd never happen, simply because it's too much ****ing work. It can take me hours to code a single spell in a game, this'd take decades with a hundred people working on it.
There are two kinds of people in the world; those who can count, and those who can't.

Thanks masaaki, though I don't understan why you would put Io roaming since he needs some levels and can do little in ganking pre-level 6. And the Broodmother was the last pick so I hadn't been able to counter it.

Well, Io alone, maybe not a good ganker. Io with wd, better but nothing special. Io plus wd, plus the OD in mid? Hell ya, they can do something. Remember io is fantastic at enabling people to do stuff, at level 2 he gives OD extra attack speed, and movemwnt speed.
