I haven't posted a hero idea in a while, and honestly, I've been holding this one idea back. This one particular idea is my favourite idea, by far (not exactly the most balanced though). Say, do you like RPG games? I love them, even if I don't have too much time to play them now, but I remember when I binge-played Final Fantasy back in the yonder days. One of the main things in classic (MMO)RPG is definitely Job System, and this hero is based on that. Now, now, before you call me stupid or it doesn't work in dota, please spare me your attention, yeah?
Ramza the Polymath is designed to be an absurdly complex hero that is seriously simple to play. I mean complex in the sense that this hero can have up to TEN different playstyle and skill set. So how does it work? Ramza has two tier 1 paths (taken from spawn), 4 tier 2 paths (upgraded at level 8), and 4 tier 3 paths (upgraded at level 18).
Each of these paths has distinct playstyle and usability, making him the most versatile hero in the game. Because of this, Ramza is designed to be complex in the mind game, the kind of "what would he choose to play as?", kind of like playing really versatile heroes that can be both played support or carry.
This does mean that Ramza's potential is stupidly high, but he is not without weakness, because of how his skill system work, he is very 'one dimensional', meaning that he can do one thing and one thing only in every moment. Also, he needs to get those levels really fast, since the impact of higher tier paths hugely outclass the previous tiers, especially since he can only get his 'ultimate' at level 18.
Due to this 'heavy penalty' that box Ramza into single playstyle (even with diverse possibilities), he is also rewarded with a lot of really, really strong skills, especially one at the higher tiers.

[] Polymath: Ramza’s diverse talents allow him to choose which area he wants to dedicate his time and effort to. This skill grants Ramza [D] and [F] when learned, each providing different paths. When Ramza is picked, this skill is instantly learned, but leveling it up requires level 8 and 18. Whenever a path is chosen, previously assigned skill points will be reset.
- Squire or Scholar path
- Lancer, Knight, Medic, or Physician path
- General, Paladin, Sage, or Champion path

Ramza’s boundless talents allow him to choose what he needs to learn
[D] Dedicated Squire: Ramza chooses to dedicate his talents to be a Squire, granting him access to Squire skills and potential paths of Knight, Lancer, and also Paladin, General, or Champion. This path focuses on farming and escaping. Using this skill changes Ramza’s path into Squire, and cannot be reverted.
[F] Dedicated Scholar: Ramza chooses to dedicate his talents to be a Scholar, granting him access to Scholar skills and potential paths of Physician, Medic, and also Paladin, Sage, or Champion. This path focuses on ganking and supporting. Using this skill changes Ramza’s path into Scholar, and cannot be reverted.
Tier One
Squire
[Q] Air Slash: Ramza slashes his blade with such force and technique that it is capable to attack units far away from him. This skill deals damage to a single target that affects 300 points area. Only deals half damage to heroes.

Cool Down: 6 seconds
If a swordsman is talented enough, he can slash through the air
[W] Fortified Rush: The Squire rushes toward an area with his shield rose up. This skill moves Ramza to a targeted area, and greatly reduces incoming damage while rushing. Cannot be disabled or slowed while rushing, but Ramza will have reduced damage for the next 5 seconds
A simple technique known to many squires, performed beyond perfectly by Ramza
[] Strengthened Arms: Ramza trains diligently to increase his strengths and use his armors more efficiently. This skill passively increases his armors and gives him damage block. This skill will be inherited to Ramza’s next paths, but the skill points spent on this skill will be reset upon choosing next paths. The damage block will block all incoming damage including spells with damage higher than 100 points.
Talent alone cannot achieve his end, so Ramza strengthens his arms
[D] Dedicated Knight: Ramza chooses to dedicate his talents to be a Knight, granting him access to Knight skills and potential paths of Paladin or General. This path focuses on initiation and durability. Using this skill changes Ramza’s path into Knight, and cannot be reverted.
[F] Dedicated Lancer: Ramza chooses to dedicate his talents to be a Lancer, granting him access to Lancer skills and potential paths of General or Champion. This path focuses on farming speed. Using this skill changes Ramza’s path into Lancer, and cannot be reverted.
Scholar
[Q] Arcane Blast: Ramza casts a simple spell known by many scholars, slowing and dealing a mediocre amount of magical damage. This skill has a projectile speed of 1200 and can be disjointed.
As simple as a spell is, the potency of a spell depends on its caster’s talent
[W] Wise Advise: The Scholar dispenses his wisdom to an allied hero, granting the hero a part of Ramza’s damage and increased 2 HP/MP regeneration with each second channeled. The bonus is given after the channel is complete.

- 5 seconds maximum channel time
- 6 seconds maximum channel time

This skill will be inherited to Ramza’s next paths, but the skill points spent on this skill will be reset upon choosing next paths.

[F] Dedicated Medic: Ramza chooses to dedicate his talents to be a Medic, granting him access to Medic skills and potential paths of Sage or Paladin. This path focuses on healing and supporting allied heroes. Using this skill changes Ramza’s path into Medic, and cannot be reverted.
Tier Two
Lancer
[Q] Vault: Ramza vaults over a long distance in short time with his long lance. This skill allows Ramza to move to targeted point after 1 second cast time. If Ramza is interrupted within this cast time, the skill will be put on cooldown.

The lance can be used masterfully enough to ensure a long vault
[] Cleaving Lance: The Lancer’s long lance cleaves on any enemy whenever he attacks. This skill causes a part of Ramza’s damage to be shared to enemy units and grants him bonus damage passively.

[F] Dedicated General: Ramza chooses to dedicate his talents to be a General, granting him access to General skills. This path focuses on split pushing. Using this skill changes Ramza’s path into General, and cannot be reverted.
Knight
[Q] Call Steed: Ramza calls upon his trusty steed into battleground, granting him advantages over his enemies. This skill increases Ramza’s base movement speed and grants him bonus damage reduction for the duration.
[W] Charge!: The Knight charges toward an enemy unit with tremendous force and a war cry. Ramza charges upon the targeted unit within 1000 points radius, stunning the target upon impact while increasing the movement speed of all allied heroes around Ramza. In the duration of the charge, Ramza and affected allies cannot be disabled, and they can pass through maximum movement speed.

[Q] First Aid: Ramza’s arduous study has allowed him to efficiently and effectively aids himself and his allies. This skill heals an amount of HP, boosts regeneration rate for a short duration, and hard dispels upon usage.
- 140 heal, 1% maximum HP/second
- 200 heal, 2% maximum HP/second
- 260 heal, 3% maximum HP/second
- 320 heal, 4% maximum HP/second

People often underestimate the power of a perfect first aid
[W] Morphine: The Medic’s most important medicine can turn into a dangerous tool of war. This skill will delay a part of damage dealt to targeted unit, and doubles it if the targeted unit is an enemy unit. The doubled damage can be lethal, and if the delayed damage kills a unit, the kill is attributed to Ramza.
- 15% damage delayed and doubled
- 20% damage delayed and doubled
- 25% damage delayed and doubled
- 30% damage delayed and doubled

A bane and a boon, the most important medicine in war
[D] Dedicated Paladin: Ramza chooses to dedicate his talents to be a Paladin, granting him access to Paladin skills. This path focuses on durability and healing. Using this skill changes Ramza’s path into Paladin, and cannot be reverted
[F] Dedicated Sage: Ramza chooses to dedicate his talents to be a Sage, granting him access to Sage skills. This path focuses on supporting allied heroes. Using this skill changes Ramza’s path into Sage, and cannot be reverted.
Physician
[Q] Acupressure: Ramza accurately presses on the pressure point of his allied unit, granting the unit bonus attack speed and a chance to Crack. If Crack is triggered on building/mechanical unit, the damage is changed into siege damage and granted bonus damage. If Crack is triggered on non-mechanical unit, the unit receives extra damage and is stunned. Crack has 0.8 seconds cool down.
- 40 bonus attack speed, 30% chance to Crack
- 55 bonus attack speed, 40% chance to Crack
- 70 bonus attack speed, 50% chance to Crack
- 85 bonus attack speed, 60% chance to Crack
A proper manipulation of pressure point strengthens absurdly
[W] Pressure Needles: The Physician throws a bundle of acupuncture needles to an area that bursts out and hits the pressure points of Ramza’s enemies. This skill disables all enemy units within 300 points radius from the initial point.
While needles might be brittle, their effect can be potent
[D] Dedicated Sage: Ramza chooses to dedicate his talents to be a Sage, granting him access to Sage skills. This path focuses on supporting allied heroes. Using this skill changes Ramza’s path into Sage, and cannot be reverted.
[F] Dedicated Sage: Ramza chooses to dedicate his talents to be a Sage, granting him access to Sage skills. This path focuses on supporting allied heroes. Using this skill changes Ramza’s path into Sage, and cannot be reverted.
Tier Three
General
[Q] Organized Retreat: Ramza issues a retreating order and immediately move back from battleground. This skill moves Ramza and all of his private troops to the direction behind him in 1200 movement speed, and increases the movement speed of all allied units upon reaching maximum range for 4 seconds.
- 1200 range, 8% movement speed increase
- 1400 range, 12% movement speed increase
- 1600 range, 16% movement speed increase
- 1800 range, 20% movement speed increase
[W] Commanding Roar: The General roars his command with overwhelming charisma, calling upon powers of allied units. This skill grants a percentage of Ramza’s damage to all allied units within 900 points radius around him and increases their attack speed for 4 seconds.

MP Cost: 160
Cool down: 30 seconds
A roar filled with charisma taps out your hidden power
[R] Private Troops: The General receives a private troop of soldiers due to his merit in the war. This skill will summon 4 melee creeps, 2 ranged creeps, and 2 siege units that lasts until replaced or dead. These units have same stats as creeps’ stats, and if any barrack has been destroyed these units will have same stats as mega creeps’ stats. These units are treated as normal creeps, thus disabling backdoor protection. This skill will replace Polymath skill and is inbound upon choosing General path.
An independent troop with exceptional general can win the war
Paladin
[Q] Saint Cross: Ramza calls upon a surge of divine power and unleashes it as a cross around him to heal allies and purges his enemies. This skill purges all enemy units while healing and removing debuffs of all allied units around him.
- 6% maximum HP heal, 210 radius
- 8% maximum HP heal, 240 radius
- 10% maximum HP heal, 270 radius
- 12% maximum HP heal, 300 radius

[W] Holy Shield: The Paladin’s most sacred shield is capable on releasing its power to release him from all tests and none can withstand its purity. This skill can be used while silenced or stunned, and will hard dispel Ramza. Additionally, this skill will passively deal damage to all units around Ramza.

Damage Radius: 900

None shall test the holy man
[] Providence: The Paladin’s ultimate prowess is the divine providence he always receives. This skill passively reduces all incoming damage of Ramza and his allies within radius as long as Ramza is alive after reduction. This skill will replace Polymath skill and is inbound upon choosing Paladin path.
When he is in the battlefield, his allies shall never fall
Champion
[Q] Mighty Blow: Ramza blows a single unit in melee range with an overwhelming might, crushing armor and stunning the target for 1 second. This skill pierces spell immunity and spell block.
- 4 armor reduction, 30 seconds cool down
- 6 armor reduction, 25 seconds cool down
- 8 armor reduction, 20 seconds cool down
- 10 armor reduction, 15 seconds cool down

Debuff Duration: 4 seconds
A powerful, precise strike is all you need to retaliate
[] Crushing Strike: The Champion’s outstanding power has a chance to crush his enemies. This skill grants Ramza a chance to deal 50% more damage, while breaking and slowing the unit for 2 seconds.

Slow Amount: 50% movement speed
A broken man cannot fight back
[R] Indomitable Fury: The Champion unleashes all his fury in one moment, causing him to be indomitable by any enemy. This skill grants Ramza maximum movement speed and cannot be slowed or killed (except by Culling Blade) for 6 seconds. This skill will replace Polymath skill and is inbound upon choosing Champion path.
[Q] Rejuvenation: Ramza rejuvenates the vitality of a unit, gradually healing the target. This skill heals the target over 3 seconds based on Ramza’s maximum HP. This heal is dealt as 10 instances per second. Has 300 points cast range.
- 8% of Ramza’s maximum HP healed
- 12% of Ramza’s maximum HP healed
- 16% of Ramza’s maximum HP healed
- 20% of Ramza’s maximum HP healed

[W] Crippling Touch: The Sage cripples a target by manipulating inner vitality. This skill breaks, silences, and mutes while slowing the movement speed of a target in 300 radius. This skill can pierce spell immunity, but not spell block.

A single touch of his can cripple someone
[R] Reversed Chakra: The Sage’s mastery over chakra can reverse the flow of his enemies’ chakra. This skill will negate any regeneration of a target in 300 radius as pure damage instead. Pierces both spell immunity and spell block. This skill will replace Polymath skill and is inbound upon choosing Sage path.
