Agreed, it's like people who stand around next to the Tower when they know the other Team is nearby, but fail to stay out of Blink Dagger Range of the Fog ._.

Techies will hurt n00bs, and maybe even a few veterans for a little while, but I don't see them becoming a Top Tier Competetive Pick, and against 5-stacks that understand the importance of Detection, they may actually be more useless than a Bloodseeker 8{3

I hate to say this, but you're all complaining about techies as if you don't want the heroes. Yes I see where you are coming from, but really I'd say there is nothing wrong with picking techies, IF you are good at pre-planning ahead and not just stacking on the rune spot. I know I will be spending a good lot of time creating new ways of ganking, setting up team fights and yeah planning ahead.

So a bit like Pudge then.

Imagine chasing someone through their tower, whilst a techie went down that path earlier and placed a stun mine. You could get a kill/Save your teammate like that!

Also I want to own Nature's Prophet. Maybe he could buy a lot of invis detection, but that sets back his farm a lot after a while.

to be fair techies has the worst stat gains in dota and the movement speed is....bad. With Boots of Travel techies is still slower than for example a Luna with Boots of Speed

I agree with many people here. Techies will most probably be like LC, BS, ES. They will rape in the beginning, and there will always be as techies in a game, but it will quickly lose focus when people start countering it. Though, people really really want them so maybe not. :(

if an insanely overpowered hero like the old earth spirit has a **** winrate then techies winrate will be around 30% during that period where the new heroes get picked a lot.

I'd like to change the winrate percentage to 20% because of the however many who will pikc him and then DC due to the terrible stat gains and also terrible movement speed. Possibly even DC after dieing multiple times.
