Support points or w/e you call it is not a stat. It is an obscure parameter that is calculated god knows how and will never be relevant, at least as long as its formula remains hidden. You can't draw any conclusions from or do any research on those parameters.
Besides, the fact that you have more stats implemented now in the game is the opposite of rewarding casuals, it's actually rewarding people that work with those stats, which are pro players/commentators/analysts/content producers.
Well if you've seen a pro game commentary that goes something like "PPD just ended this game with 55 supporting points, which shows that he did admirably this game both in terms of early roaming and constantly keeping a vision advantage for his team. This is a pretty impressive score, since the second best ever in competitive is Aui_2000 with 46 supporting points when playing against EG"...
Lol I thought our friend added something about the end game panel, that is, those stats? And not just the support points from the pentagram? I might have misunderstood.
Anyways as Dimony said the fact that the entire formula is hidden doesn't allow deeper analysis, but it doesn't mean you cannot know what it means/take conclusions from it. Wasn't one of you Dimony or Hamster that even did an experiment to determine that fluctuation in your blog? We know for instance the purchase of support items, the amount of disables and the amount of healing are support parameters.
ChiChi is right. Don't listen to anybody telling you otherwise.
If you make this a game of trying to be the best and always win than the game will give you that. If you want to hunt for certain points (without jeopardizing the fun of others of course) then you can do that. Or just play for fun. There are millions of ways to play dota.
Just figure out your way of playing the game.
I can also help you a bit if you want. ChiChi does a really good job at coaching but it's always good to hear a second opinion. I am only 3k though so keep that in mind.
