well, back in the day when I wasn't really very good at dota at all, I unlocked this mmr thing that had come out in the patch, so I went hey, ill calibrate, and lost my first 3 matches.... so I got put at 1000mmr and was like, ok that doesn't sound to bad, anyway I log onto reddit chat and say: "hey guys, just got calibrated at 1000mmr, is that good?" and as you would expect I got a *****torm of abuse and 1 or 2 helpful answers saying 1000 mmr was a deep pit in a cold dark corner of hell.

Anyway, I decided that if I just kept playing maybe I could get up to maybe 3000 after many games.
that seemed to be going well, I got up to about 1300 with ease when suddenly...

I think I must have some how been in the good bit of hell, suddenly I hit that bad bit. I have a pretty easy laning experience, go about 4-0 only to find out that the rest of my team has been quietly feeding and losing towers. And thats when I play carry, play support and im simply ****ed, the carry can't even last hits, abuses me for pulling the creep wave and does stupid ****.

all explained, does anyone have any tips to get out of this hole, 2000 wouldbe fine, I mean really
Or should I just make a new steam account for the sole purpose of playing dota?\

Thanks
Fleet

laning against a warlock middle is the most frustrating experience i have ever had in Dota ...

i would get him on less then 50 hp every 2 mins and he would survive with that ******** heal of his ... i got so frustrated i dived the tower just to kill him and ended up diving into a 3 man gank ...

bugger u warlock

ill try this, if I win every game, I think you go up aprox 30 mmr per win so if I win all thats 27 games = a fairly long weekend. If this works i'll be a very happy man ping, if not you shall perish....jks but I will be sad

Thanks

Trust me, the 2000 and more MMR isn't the exit of the hell... it's incredible how still at 2300 people don't know about last-hitting: they keep hitting the creeps, pushing the wave and then sit doing nothing when the creeps are next to the enemy tower. There's even a proper lesseon in the training section of the game, why nobody seems to know that I wonder.

Trust me, 3300 isn't the exit of hell haha. Its great when you get like minded people, but most of the time I get foreigners that i don't even know how they got to more than 3k. Maybe I'm just a lot worse than I think I am lol.
I got to Notable, Thanks!

Hell never ends until something in the 4K region. It's when people start to get actually good.

The skill of the 1000 to 3000 MMR matches are generally the same, so if you can win what you're in right now consistently you can get to at least early 3K.

The experience of each player doesn't differ much in that range, but be wary of some people who were wrongfully put in that area and actually belong to around 4K.

Its also pretty good around 3500 in captains mode/draft. Although even then you still get the occasional random weirdo who doesnt know anything about general roles like offlaners and try to duallane with a clockwerk. I seriously wonder hoe those people get a ~3500 mmr.
