or you play captains mode that's also pretty fun, you get less ******s, but they are generally the worst you can get.

I myself may not have the highest MMR, think its around 2.5k (at work and can't recall). But, I play with friends who are way above me and some who are way below me. One of the things I notice bout the ones below who are overly concerned about raising their MMR, is they tend to get good (realtively speaking) with one or two heroes, and then only play those heros as a way to raise their MMR.
I see this as amlost gaming the MMR system, cuz you may get decent wth a couple heroes, but what happens when for whatever reason you can't pick them. Not too mention that the more heroes you learn, the better your understanding of the game and its intricacies becomes.
So I think telling the OP to play only Warlock, or only certain heroes, to get out of the 1k range is only going to eventually backfire
For you guys complaining about players at the higher ranges still being idiots, well, this could be one reason why. They are up there in MMR now, and trying out knew heroes that they can't play efficiently yet.
Just, IMHO.

I gave up the warlock idea, it was boring. I am just playing heroes for my compendium, going captains mode or just randoming in all pick. and all thats going fine, I havent lost a single game since before i got put in low priority for my power going out.

So yah, im not a 2 hero guy :S IM EVERY HERO DAMMIT WOMEN

Would you like me to trawl your DotaBuff and pick out games where the enemy team has been just as bad, contributing to a free win?

I can't see what would be wrong with an MMR calibration reset tool, provided you could only use one once per 30 days or so.

That said, I doubt people would suddenly start getting higher MMR results. I firmly believe that if you're unable to carry yourself out of your bracket, regardless of teammates, then you deserve to be there.

100% correct.

People fail to realize the enemy team is just as full of feeders and baddies as theirs is.

Only way to improve is to accept that you are on the same level as everyone else in your bracket, and figure out what you're doing wrong that's holding you back (and unless you're 5k+ there's probably room for improvement in nearly every aspect of the game).

Lol you people talk about carrying your team, selfish kids, ever tried supporting in your life?

Its fools like you who cant support and ruin some1's carry game.

I play all heroes all roles, but in the end if your team sucks beyond doglike, you CANT win, its a TEAM GAME, you CANT 1v5.

My MMR was 2800 in the beginning, went up to 3300 which is still way to low for my skill level and exp, then dropped to 2400, I raised it up to a respectable 3800, now due to a long streak of feeders and quitters i went down to 2400 and managed to pull it to 2600 today.

At the end of the day, if your team sucks your MMR goes down, in rapid succession, it keeps going down.
