I played Enigma mid 2 times, and it was GREAT.First time against a Shadow Fiend, and second against a TA.
Enigma in my opinion is a strong mid hero.He can constantly deny creeps (catapults) with Demonic Conversion, and Eidelons are really good at harassing. If you enemy mid hero is absent a bit of time, Enigma can easily destroy T1 mid, with some creeps and Eidelons. If you catch your enemy out of position, you can stun him and atack with eidelons, and that will deal a huge amount of damage, even maby a kill.He can harass as well with Midnight Pulse. A combo of all spells (Demonic Conversion, Maledict and Midnight Pulse) can get a kill fast and easy. When a hero is mid, he can gank more effectivly right? Enigma has Black Hole. Easy ganks.
There is a video by Purge playing Enigma mid (against a QoP is harder). At 27 minutes he had lvl 16, Midas, Boots of Travel, Blink and Sheep Stick. He won his lane against a QoP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jamT5mt4T0Q
He is, but so is shadow demon yet no one plays him like that.
It's because enigma is just fine jungle and he's wasting a lane at mid for a hero that REALLY can't get lvls anywhere else.

This.
Crystal Maiden can be played as a carry. Doesn't mean she should be.
He is really strong mid since he cant just deny the initial creep, he can deny more and last hit with ease because eidilons give him a ****ton of damage. I played him mid a long time ago when we had a weird draft, it worked out great and i crushed mid.
There is just one thing, he gets just as much farm when jungling and is also a pretty good offlaner, so yes he is good mid, but when you want an enigma you can put him jungle, or when you dont want to be greedy in the offlane or solo safe.
When fnatic started having their weird phase (weird for fnatic standards) before and during TI4 when they switched up roles all the time they also picked enigma mid multiple times and bigdaddyn0tail played him. You can search for vods if you want.
Just because a hero can win mid doesn't mean he should be played mid. Otherwise let's just play Lich or Keeper of the Light mid, since both heroes win mid easily.
Enigma can be played mid, but he doesn't *need* what he gets from going mid (an XP advantage). Going jungle or offlane takes way less space from your team and does exactly the same thing. If you like ganking with Enigma (he's really good at this) do this from the jungle it works just as well.
If you don't have a better mid hero, then sure. But gerenally playing supports mid is never a good thing and it throws games, a lot.
I was going to make a separate thread, but this seems like a decent enough one.
Recently I have been falling in love with Rubick Mid. Yeah, yeah, "why not support" "takes up space for a hero that needs it", don't give me those arguments. I was actually thinking of maining this, or just Rubick as a whole. It really works for me.

Rubick mid is fun versus the right team, but he doesn't fit the current meta: nowadays teams always play with two strong cores that rely on physcal damage (mid Shadow Fiend and Sniper, for example, are pretty popular), while Rubick is only a utility Hero. This forces your team to play offlane Heroes like Bristleback or Doom (since having a Centaur Warrunner or Tidehunter with a mid Rubick really limits the team's damage output) and usually leaves you without a tanky initiator.
Mid Rubick was a thing in TI2, but now he works just as well as a support. With the right team (and versus the right team), however, he's kind of good to have, he just doesn't fit in most team compositions in my opinion.
