How to :Recognise you Tilting

Tilting from the saying "on tilt" :on tilt : In a reckless manner, especially playing poker recklessly after experiencing bad or good luck.

this saying originated from the medieval sport of jousting, where if some one was on the verge of losing they would be "on tilt" meaning leaning over in the saddle. This then leant itself to the world of poker where if a player played a bad hand and let it effect them their decisions from then on would be bad and thus they were "on tilt" or "tilting".

Now we lead the term towards the world of E-sports and more importantly... DotA2

when one tilts in dota they are letting one bad game affect them for the rest of their time online. When someone allows this to happen a lot of their decisions made afterwards are bad, horrible or downright ****. The problem is... how do we know we are tilting? How does one tell another player that they are tilting? How do you Recognise tilting?

speaking from experience .... ill tell yo…

Helllooooooo guys, it's me again, Exit, and today I, for once, am going to try my hand at passing my knowledge on down ;) even though most of you are better than me. So lately I've been seeing a lot of games thrown/lost because of one thing: unfair engagements. One person will run in and die, and then the whole rest of their team will de ice to go balls deep and feed, resulting in at least one tower, if not more lost. And it's pretty disturbing, because it's not as if they are getting tanked into the fight. They are consciously making a decision in heir head go go in and try to fight all five members of the enemy team and trade.

So, when to attempt a trade? Do you ONLY fight as five, and just give away objectives while waiting on your teammates re spawn timer? Or do you run and and try to get at least one of their heroes for yours? I have come up with a sort of guide to attempting an uneven trade(it's by no means definitive though, so please, lay on the criticizing).
1) is your teamma…

Everyone! All five of you who read these! Hold on to your hats and prepare to assume the position because IT. IS. TIME.

Woo. Hooray. So exciting. I'm literally dying of excitement, see? See how excited I am. So excited. Woo.

Why don't you add a 'kappa' to the end there, make the sarcasm even MORE obvious?

Don't have the energy. Cause I'm so excited.

Shush. Anyways, I finally got around to making myself a veggie pizza burger, so I also finally got around to playing my next ranked game. This signals the halfway point of this little series, and we've had some good times, yeah?

Oh yeah. So many...

NOT. TALKING. TO YOU.

Hmph.

When I loaded into my game this time, something... peculiar happened. Something that I've always wanted to happen, yet never actually thought would. Someone recognized me.

Like, someone you knew?

No, I mean like... from this site. They fingered me as 'that guy who writes funny guides on Dotafire'. And I gotta say, when someone recognizes you for yo…

Hello everyone! I know, I know, this isn't MMR match 5, but I promise you it's coming in a bit, don't worry.

You think anyone cares?

I'm sure at least like... five people care? Maybe? At least three...

Uh huh.

Shush. Anyways, it's been a while since I did a 'suggested balancing' thread... I think the last one was on Night Stalker all the way back when. In the time since then, the game has shifted towards early game aggression and people have begun to build NS more late-game centered, and he's sort of found a niche place in the meta again. This meta in general I'm finding almost every hero in the game has some role to play at some point... sure we're seeing a lot Queen of Pain, Gyrocopter and Earthshaker, but I'm pretty satisfied with how diverse the qualifiers have been. I even saw Tinker again at one point!

That didn't go well.

No. No it did not. There's one hero, however, who doesn't a place anywhere anymore, which is a shame because he was one of my favorite carr…

Just a few quick announcements I suppose:

So as you may have noticed from my last blog post, I love Dragon Knight so I am going to make a guide for him(woohoo), which I hope you guys will like. I don't know exactly when I will have it ready but I will have a lot of free time this summer hopefully.

I can't get you a picture yet, but I'm graduating tomorrow and my cap is decorated with.... The DotA logo :D

Finally, I feel kinda bad doing this but I'd love it if you could check out my general carrying guide. I think its gotten a little buried but I'm proud of it so I really want to share it with you guys.

Here it is, I'll update it shortly for 6.84

I enjoy writing on this blog and thanks for those of you who read it, more real posts are coming up!

I remember a game where I was a support and my carry was just being... well, a douche. I would even give him tangoes when he demanded them at full health, and he just made being lane support miserable. The rest of my team, of course, was on his side. To spare myself the torment of remembering that game I'll sum it up. Everyone was yelling and flaming me and just made me want to quit Dota altogether. Thankfully I hadn't abandoned a game recently and when I did I received no LP games. I rarely abandon unless it's a case like that and I usually mute and stick it out. Anyone else been in this situation? Was it wrong for me to abandon my team for my own selfish feelings? I always value your input!

Why is the workshop mean to some heroes and worship others? Is it because of a lack of talented artists? If you could create an item and have it be in th new immortal treasure, what would it be? Which hero would it be for? Always interested to hear your thoughts and ideas!

So I was being a silly little Pudge and I'm like, "I NEED VANGUARD! DOOMLING, COME HITHER!!". When I bought it from the secret shop (back in 6.8 #nostalgia) he said, "VANGAURD!!!!!!" This has happened on some other heroes I rarely play, since I don't usually know what to buy on the hero. It was a good buy since, for some reason, I was going hard carry. Although this isn't an item I see a lot and in other games it wasn't good at all, Pudge had a call-out for it. Does this mean that Valve originally intended for some items to be bought on heroes that aren't good? If so why? Also include some obscure but effective item builds on heroes you like to play as I always appreciate input!

If Dota 2 is a team game, then why does everyone (or at least most people) go crazy over solo MMR? Why does no one care about party MMR and your ability to win with people you know. I understand that solo MMR is meant to make you cooperate with random people, but it's often hard to when you don't speak their language. PLEASE ANSWER ME SOMEONE. I'd like to here what you have to say!
