Non Battlefury AM?

Anti-Mage is a pretty situational pick, imo. Times to pick him

• Medium level nukers on enemy team (if theyre all magic focused just get a better carry and rush bkb)
• Your supports or other cores don't have much pushing power
• Other team has high mobility and you need to match it
• Wraith King and Medusa

Other than that I think there is always a better carry to pick. If you're going to get easy farm, he's a good pick. If you want to have some early fight then DON'T PICK A FARMING CARRY. Pick Phantom Assassin who can get a Helm and Yasha and start farming ancients and picking off heroes.

you are forgetting one simple fact that makes AM special.
HE IS ANTI-MAGE


seriausly, he has that special factor that can make him PREVAIL AGAINST ALL ODDS.

Non-BF AM is possible. Not always viable but possible. There are a few ways that you can do it. But the reason it is usually not done is because beside Radiance, Battle Fury is the best farming item in the game. With one you can farm waves way faster than other carries without one. The issue is that for it to be effective it needs to be completed before the 20 minute mark, absolute MAXIMUM. Getting it earlier is even better. And even in games with experienced players it can be very difficult for players to get a BF unless you have a greatly superior lane, and your support(s) are successfully harassing the enemy heroes away from the creep wave.

So one possible way to go is the Power Treads --> Maelstrom --> Manta Style/ Black King Bar build. Maelstrom can give you some nice attack speed which many carries rely on, and the chain lightning damage is great for clearing waves and farming efficiently. And Manta Style (If offense is needed first) or BKB (If defense is needed first).

well boys i played Anti-Mage without Battle Fury for the first time yesterday.
we kinda had a ******ed lineup, so i laned with an RTZ/support Ember Spirit, against a Bloodseeker+ Skywrath Mage lane. needless to say i got little, but i didnt die, so i went vlads so i could jungle.
i opted NOT to go Maelstrom since i thought i needed manta, but i got it pretty damn late at ~25 min since i couldnt farm for the first 10 minutes.

eventually i got some nice farm after some won fights, but my farm obviously never really exploded after getting a few minutes of space.

conclusion: TRY TO GET BATTLEFURY. if you cant farm it early, it probably means you cant fight well either early against their heroes with a combat build.

Any game with a support Ember Spirit and a Techies in your team is not proper doto, and as such it has absolutely no value :)

Now do that again in a PROPER team when playing against a magic damage focused lineup. Either go safelane with an actual support or go mid against ****ty pub mids like Pudge or Zeus. You can even try dual offlane because AM is really good in lane against melee carries. It works!

I dream of the day when Io + Anti-Mage will be a thing. F*** magic...globally xD
