I have played that stuff in 4-5K MMR stacks. Allow me to disagree.
Necrophos is a semi-jungler like Sand King. SK gets 9-10-minute blink and he doesn't need to steal farm in lane. Same for mek on necro.
Pugna is a nuker. Just like every nuker he only needs HP to stay alive, that's it. The pushing power is the same. Besides he can farm very efficiently as soon as the laning stage ends so mek-Aghs is easy. Get Soul Ring, stack jungle or clear waves, ez gold.
well fine, you made it happen, but i dont think you should reccomend this to people, if you end up with low farm on necro you become a liability and pugna is much less effective with low early levels then as a farmer.
and about pugna, it doesnt fix the fact that is lane impact is pretty low, and isnt nearly close to the laning presence of other 'supports'. so he doesnt fit the list.
I don't think you can really say one; it totally depends who you're laning with and against!
E.g. If you're Razor, an Earthshaker can be a great ally if the opponent can't bypass Fissure. Lich can be a great foil for a Faceless Void by getting him space and keeping the lane under control. A hero with great lane presence 1v1 might just want a Sand King who semi-jungles and occasionally turns up to gank.
I agree with the former. However out of curiosity which would you pick if you dont know who's the carry?
You said something about semi junglers, arent we talking about lane partners? I nean sure they make ganks happen but they dont technically lane. That's why I thought Chen was a misfit here.
Enlighten me! But we differ on lane partner concept. For me, hes the one who stays in lane 100% of the time, behind the trees in the shadows, pulling camps, generally making the carrys life easier for last hitting. Semi junglers dont do that do they?
If you don't know the carry, you'd look at the offlaner you're likely to be against, and pick a hero who can do well against them. If you don't know that either, ask your carry what they're going to pick, or base your choice on what you think the rest of your team needs.
If you're really unsure, I'd pick a hero who's pretty flexible - Jakiro, Lion, Crystal Maiden - all of these heroes can harass/stun/jungle reasonably if required.
Chen is a bit of misfit for lane support, but lane support -> semi-jungler is a sliding scale, not an absolute choice. For example, Chen could be quite active - pulling the lane, ganking, as well as jungling for himself. You might even send a jungle creep to harass. In the same way, Sand King might barely be in lane if his carry can do fine without him, but could also be more active by pulling, ganking etc if required. It depends more how you play them than the exact hero you pick.
Even a lane support might spend some time out of lane - warding, picking up runes, pulling, stacking etc. As well as being in lane sometimes. It all depends how much your carry needs you there - e.g. a Razor or Viper might want as much solo XP as possible, and not need you. A Spectre might require you to be constantly in lane babysitting.
im actually quite suprised that so many people picked dazzle. he is really strong with meepo or shadow demon for example but he definately isnt the first hero i think about when i play with a friend and we are like 'he lets wreck the enemy lane'.

Yeah, I don't see why people like Dazzle so much in lane. He can hardly heal you (140 heal at max level is almost nothing), he pushes the lane, and Poison Touch is an extremely weak disable. Only thing he does well in lane is counter melee offlaners...other that that he hardly does anything but sap XP, and he can't roam. Greedy pick is greedy. Warlock is a greedy pick too but his lane presence is better, Shadow Word is just so good, 500 damage/heal at max level feels almost broken at that point.
I am very happy, that Jakiro is receiving some love. He is truly flexible and fits almost any line-up. He is not the best in anything, but his mixed powers of pushing, harassment and crowd control, decent stats gain and supportive playstyle makes him a really good ally.

He is really picked a lot lately(as of 6.82 atleast)
Can anyone tell me what happened that Jakiro became a core support?

I think you have never been saved by Shallow Grave in lane.
Wanna wreck a lane with him? go 3-1-1-1 Build . They will commit seppuku.
