I really don't understand why you lose MMR when someone ragequits and you quit afterwards. This is so extremely stupid. Last 10-15 rankeds I played I got 3 rage quitters and I lost 75 MMR only because of them.

This is so ****ing frustrating. I think they want to prevent people from intentionally playing with a friend who abandons when a game is lost, but this is so annoying to me. How am I supposed to raise my MMR when 1/3 of my games have ragequitters and another 1/3 just completely stupid people (like Invoker Legion Commander lane, position 1 Keeper of the Light etc). How is MMR an acceptable system if all it comes down to is whose team has the least ******s.

It can easily be abused, one person can be a smurf or a designated ****-on account. If the game is going bad then that ****-account can always just leave and the people playing with him can leave with no penalty. This can be constantly abused to only count winnable games and thus destroy whatever meaning MMR has.

very easy to abuse. I personally don't believe in smurfing.

Why not just make it so people in the group of the person who abandoned lose MMR. That way the people who are unrelated dont get this **** all the time.

I think it's an ok idea but it's going to cause more problems than solve that one issue you're having. Players will feel more inclined to disconnect since they won't be punished and never try to make a comeback. What if the other team was doing so well and that was the reason why one of your teammates abandoned? Is it fair for the other team that played better to not receive mmr? It will add more ways for people to abuse the mmr, you see those players who somehow have such high KDAs, in the 8+? Pay for a service where players will tank their hidden MMR until they finally meet in a language where there's a lot less people... like Australia.

How do you then deal with just one player that quits? Everybody else gets no penalty? Does the enemy team still get mmr? If yes, that's opens up the more holes in the mmr abuse and easy mmr for the other team. If no, then what's the point of playing ranked if one person can completely destroy the whole mmr system and also waste time for both teams? That opens up even more abuse for the system, more wasted time and more frustrations. It then becomes a thing where if one person leaves, that team has two options: Play it out and try to win but if you think you will lose then just leave since you cannot get punished.

What about those players that actually need to leave but does not want to punish their friend because they actually needed to go due to whatever important reason? It's giving more power to accounts like smurfs or boosters, they can just feed and leave. It won't solve boosters ruining games to find their client and it won't solve a thing for people who ragequit. So all these problems for people not to lose MMR when someone quits is not worth its weight in comparison to the added problems that also needs to be solved. You're going to make account sellers more profitable since now you only need at least one player to disconnect.

What happens to those players that somehow is in a game full bots that feed other players to gain high KDAs? If that one player leaves a game and follows the "yes the other team will get mmr", then that opens up more opportunities of abuse. What if it doesn't let teams gain mmr if one person leaves? Then it goes back to the problem of one player having the power to totally ruin the game for the other 9 players and also destroy the mmr system.

You can essentially abuse the system and make account buying economy more profitable. Get 20+ accounts (More the better), have all lose normal games, queue ranked in a low population server then lose games until your accounts meet. One team will farm the other for high KDAs, then win. The accounts that win will queue up with each other more while the accounts that lose will meet with each other more then rinse and repeat.

Knowing that you wont lose MMR from a disconnect will also reduce the odds that your team will pause should you disconnect unintentionally.

Say a member(s) of your team don't like the draft and already *****ing. If someone disconnects I'm sure they will do their best to make sure this person gets an abandon so they can leave without losing MMR.

Also it's relatively easy to group up with out actually being in a group in game. It's how people make feed accounts to raise MMR. You simply get on skype, teamspeak, etc... and let each other know if the accept message pops at the same time. You then have a 50/50 chance of getting the teams you want.

I know it sucks but I think changing it in this way will lead to more ways to abuse the MMR system.
