I really like it. I really like the map rework, comeback feature, and all the new abilities. Treant Protector's Agh's is super cool, Chen's Aghs is super cool. The new Phantom Lancer is way cool. I like everything except for Riki spamming Blink Strike. So what do you think? I'm just interested in what the public thinks of this update.

I actually do like Riki's perma invis from lvl 1 because it encourages the purchase of sentries in pubs. Also, it has a nerfed fade time so it's easier to kill him before he goes away.

Riki actually got buffed I think. The change to Blink Strike is pretty awesome, and the lvl 1 invis + health regen gives him sooo much more lane presence. He's quite a good solo-offlaner now, kind of like Bounty Hunter.

I still haven't tried everything out, sadly. Mostly just the PL and Bloodcyka reworks. Overall it's a good update. It shook a lot of stuff up, in a good way. A few notes:

- Crimson Guard is a great item and I think we're going to start seeing it everywhere.
-Hard carries like Spectre are viable again, while midgame carries like Razor and Viper are less so.
- Bloodseeker is a solid support now, and he has an absolutely ridiculous damage amp.
-The new map layout actually makes a lot more sense and doesn't favor the Dire so much anymore.
-Games are going to be longer and closer, and that's really exciting (for me anyway).
-Thanks to the new runes, mid heroes and roaming supports are now a lot more dangerous. Rune control is more important and the Bottle will probably be core on roaming heroes.

The blink strike change is actually a nerf, you cant use it hardly as much now. And a '0 second cooldown' is almost never usefull, you want to blink on someone, lock him in place and kill him, not randomly jump between heroes. Making it his ult is also a nerf, much less kill potential in lane. The HP regen on invis is nice but it was always his least usefull skill in lane, and it requires you to stand still and not farm.

Agree with Timmi. I think the new Riki sucks now. Less movement speed, less base damage, and Blink Strike limited by a charge system with a *30 second replenish time*, that's some huge nerfs.

Remember Earth Spirit? Stone Remnant had a 30 second restore time. When it was nerfed to 35 seconds all the fans were crying because their favorite hero had become unplayable. The 5-second cooldown Blink strike used to have meant that you can use it whenever you need it. There is no point whatsoever in using 5 blinks in rapid succession. This cooldown is just a nerf to Riki's snowballing ability, exactly the same way Earth Spirit's snowballing ability is limited by the fact that he's eventually out of stones.

I think the idea was to make "roaming Riki' possible, ie go Boots of Speed/ Orb of Venom first and go roam for kills at level 1 or 2. I've seen some people try that but it was a complete fiasco. Since Riki has no base damage now, people were just manfighting him.

The only "buff" is that Riki is now a semi-viable offlaner, a bit like Bounty Hunter. Which I'm happy with, because it fits the hero way more. Safe-lane carry Riki in a trilane was always a bit of a joke - completely snowball dependent, can't farm efficiently, no teamfight, and no late game unless horribly fed. So before that patch there was really nowhere to lane a riki except mid xD

I have never played Riki, but I actually think of this is a buff .Say you have max charges. Say you have a lot of attack speed. Say Blink is maxed out. If you use Blink Strike on the same enemy, repeatedly, you'll get a **** load of burst damage. (90 x 5 = 450 damage in a couple of seconds, plus regular auto attack)

I have multiple times, and i can assure you its a nerf, you his lane presence is obviously much weaker, and you can use his blink MUCH less, while that burst damage is not very usefull.

I think it's supposed to be used this way:

Find a guy, backstab him once or twice. He faces you.

Blink behind him, back stab him once or twice. He faces you.

This has been done successfully before the patch, Blink Strike had a low cooldown(5 if I'm not mistaken), and it was enough. Though now it's very hard to escape him once he has 3+ charges up, but aside from that, nothing good happened - he now has lane presence like that of Spectre or Medusa, but doesn't have the late-game power to go with it.

Noone's going to mention that now Riki has 0 mobility until lvl6? You can't Blink Strike to your Supports to escape Ganks now. 8{(

I seriously don't understand how a Skill can go from 120 Damage every 5 seconds to 90 damage every 30 seconds, yet be considered a Buff simply because you can use it 3 times in a row every 90 seconds at 100 extra Range...<|8{D 8{(

It's like saying let's nerf Ember Spirit's Flame Remnant by reducing the Cooldown to 7 seconds, increasing the Damage to 150/200/250, BUT HE CAN ONLY USE 1 AT A TIME!!! MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH!!!! X{D

Ember would have to be officially renamed to Imba with that kind of change. 8{3
