I try to be a good support and do my best to communicate with my team but people just seem to ignore what i say. Maybe its just me though.

ie: I call missing and mid gets ganked and then they ask why I didn't say anything or when i call runes out and none go for it.

This has nothing to do with Supporting to be honest, it's just Pubs in general. People would be whining just as much if you were the Carry, Mid, Offlaner or Jungler. It's to do with the fact that they suck, but believe that by whining enough, they can somehow convince everyone it's someone else's fault.

Happens to everybody. It's still good to try to communicate with your team even if it doesn't always work, but SOMETIMES it does.

At some point you just have to tell people to stop whining like ****ing babies and just play the game.

Or just mute them.

To be honest it doesn't matter what role you're playing, you should call missing/where runes are no matter what. If your team are good people/nice they will heed your words and say "Thanks" otherwise none of your problem. Playing a support is hard as lower level pubs don't understand the significance of them.
Your new diet for heroes; You will need 4 wards (cuz wards taste better), 1 set of tangoes, 1 mango, 1 cheese.
With this you can make a nice Tango Mango Cheese platter. You can wash this all down with a nice bottle of water, Can be flavoured with red, green, yellow, blue, purple AND GOLD!
Caution: Taking roshan 3 times is required.

You need to establish dominance as a support. Like with a pack of wolves.

One game as Vengeful Spirit my team was getting rekt, like all Teir 2 towers down rekt. I got a few kills and basically no deaths, and I was doing really well stunning and ganking and such. We got three heroes down and I was like : "We are going five-man bot". Took the T2. "Now we are going mid" Took that one. "Finish off top". Took all their T2's just like that. "Back to base dont get greedy". All back to base. "stay in base I will stun when they come in. Got three more. Pushed top and won. One of the funnest games I have ever played, being leader.

Yeah, only down side is when you get those carries that think their the next xboct and just want to go 1v5 against the other team.

Some people just won't ever listen no matter what you say. Always get those types of games now and then.

Communication is the biggest thing needed. The second biggest is having a guy that will take charge.

Keep doing these things anyway - good habits make for good players.

There's no guarantee people pay any attention even at higher levels - I was supporting safe lane the other day (2v2), called the Bane missing, pinged him twice as he moved up the river towards mid under our ward, pinged mid, called "careful" and "bane is missing" (by alt clicking his portrait) and....the idiot was still out of position on the wrong side of the river when Bane completed his journey to gank him.

Generally people do listen though, especially better players. You should always call misses, and even ping players when you see ganks incoming on them - they don't always pay as much attention as they should, and supports generally have a little more time to look at the mini-map.

My rule of thumb is - if I get ganked and somebody called miss, that's my fault. If they don't call, that's their fault.

I'm starting to think my method of just telling my team: "Just stop thinking and do everything I say" might be a little flawed....lol
Do as I say, not what I do
