So I was playing Tiny yesterday and I was thinking about items that would be good on him and does anyone think the following items would be good on Tiny?

Desolator - Would make your damage make that much more of a difference
Mask of Madness - Gives you more chase ability and you would pummel enemies to a pulp in seconds

Personally, I feel that MoM is too risky on Tiny. Although he is rather tanky, he doesn't attack fast enough to regain the hit points drained due to the 30% extra damage. If you want more attack speed, I used to get Mjollnr on his to troll. But, the lightning + stun from his Craggy Exterior seems to work quite well. And, if you need more damage, Aghs would be a better pick since carry normally buys the Assault Cuirass, making the extra negative armor a little overkill.

Desolator on Tiny is a definite no-no to me. Deso gives you attack damage and armor reduction. Attack damage is useless because Tiny already has tons of attack damage, what he lacks is attack speed. And armor reduction is pretty useless as well because Tiny is mainly a nuker at that point, not a physical damage dealer. Tiny only starts becoming a good right-click hero in the *late* game when he has 3 or more late game items. In the mid game Tiny is essentially a walking Avalanche/ Toss, that's it, his right-click is pretty much negligible. If you want to give better right-click to Tiny, you need to build attack speed. Yasha, Manta Style, Assault Cuirass, Mjollnir, Hyperstone stacking, you name it.

Mask of Madness on Tiny is pretty legit on the other hand. He's fairly tanky once you build a bit of armor on him, so he won't feed, and besides Tiny is not really a hero who gets focused first anyways because of his stuns. Tiny uses MoM as well as Sven, maybe even better because he really really needs that attack speed.

let us compare some items shall we?

Desolator costs 4100 gold and gives 60 damage and 7 armor reduction for it.

Aghanim's Scepter on the other hand, for 4200 gold, gives 10 damage, 190 health, 130 mana,10 attackspeed, 1.4 armor and increases attack range to 235 (still considered as melee), gives 50% cleave in a 400 radius, and deals 75% bonus damage to structures.

Mask of Madness gives +100 attack speed and +30% movement speed but causes you to take extra 30% damage.
what Mask of Madness does is, it helps you in the first 20 minutes, albeit being a double edged sword by increasing the damage you take which tiny has no way to reduce. Then, it is useless. you already have a lot of movespeed because of Grow and makes Assault curi*** almost every game.

it is much better to make Drum of Endurance simply because it is a 1850 gold item which gives 171 HP, 0.27 health regen, 14 attack speed (24 with active), 1.28 armor, 117 mana and 0.36 mana regen ALONG with 15% movement speed while not endangering our poor armor-less Tiny's life.

take your pick.

Why would you waste 2 item slots when Assault Cuirass covers all three : need of armor, armor reduction and attack speed.

Definite no to Desolator. Deso is arguably better for pushing buildings than fighting, but you already get a big buff to building damage (and stats and a cleave) from Agh's.

MoM isn't an item I like picking up on anyone because usually Maelstrom is better in terms of DPS. I'd still rather have that on Tiny, but I can see where MoM is at least usable. Better have some armor though. It does make chasing really easy, but I mean.. I don't think it's the way to go. Tiny is a fast dude already, and you should grab a blink.

I am a big fan of Io and when i play the Io + Tiny with my friend he almost always gets a Mask of Madness. Usually mask then scepter plus the Overcharge buff is enough to melt creep waves, creep camps, and towers in seconds. Also, it makes Relocate ganks work better since it dosent matter if they focus tiny in a 2v4 situation, ganking another lane

The Desolator is more of a mid game damage item (before the enemies get armor), but since you have to rush an Aghanim's Scepter there are many alternatives that work better 30 minutes into the game: Monkey King Bar and Daedalus for raw damage, Assault Cuirass and Manta Style (keep in mind the illusions gain the extra base damage from Grow!) for attack speed.

About the Mask of Madness, Tiny already has high movement speed: pair it with an early Drum of Endurance and a Manta Style/ Yasha and chasing won't be a problem; the attack speed will be improved, too. Being a STR carry, Tiny has low armor, so you need to be very careful if you want to build a Mask of Madness: it's not a rejected item, it's just superfluous to me.
