After thinking of all the heroes abilities and situations. I've come to the conclusion that Mirana is the best hero in the game.

Here are my reasons:

She brings not one but two initiation/Escape abilities.

She has a good AOE ability.

She has a crowd control ability.

You can literally put her almost anywhere for a lane assignment and she will do a decent job. (She can't jungle at lvl 1 though.)

She can be played both as core and support.

No other hero is as versatile as she is.

We can say same thing about Doom - no other hero disables enemy as he does. Also he's ultimate aura carrier, wolf aura, vladmir aura, AC aura, meka aura, shiva aura, he's just standing in teamfight and making your team 2x tougher, or enemies 2x weaker, while disabling 1 important hero from enemy team ( Brewmaster, Storm Spirit).

What about Mirana - if you're playing in a good team then her ultimate is completly countered by well placed sentries or gem on tanky hero, ban out shadow demon and bane to make arrow much less reliable, buy bkb on cores (you're going to do this anyway even against other heroes) for no damage from stars and arrow, and then all she does is leap around and sometimes hit an arrow on less aware enemy.
"When game is going full ******, you can only go with it. If you start going against it, if you start going half ******, you´re ****ing done for. When Aloha decides to go middle rubick you let him, and you start buying orb of venom on invoker. That's how dota works" -n0tail

You can't really say for a fact that any hero is the best one. It's preference. I don't like Mirana. I really like Lina, but I don't think she is the best hero there is. None of the Dota heroes are the best ones. They all have strengths and weaknesses; and can be countered via different heroes and methods.

There is no best hero. In fact, Mirana would not even be close to it. Dem melee Sacred Arrows are so good, with that 0.01 stun duration. A good AoE ability, centered around her, goodluck getting it off in a manfight before you would have to leap away.

I think Miranda isnt the "best hero'' but she does work well with the "REAL BEST HERO",
The one, the only, MEEPO!

Reasons why meepo is the best:
1)Very fast farmer(can clear entire creep waves with 2 meepos and a maxed poof)
2)Has a 1000 range AOE crowd control skill, if used properly the enemy team will be "permanently" disabled
3)A slow that ignores Magic immunity, 20% slow x 5 meepos= 100% SLOW!!
4)Has an escape skill that damages an area when used
5)Can reveal invisible units, stop casting(likes TP's and CM's SS) and prevent blinks
6)Can kill Roshan early(requires Vlad's tho, and preferably a DD)
7)Can burst down most heroes with full HP!
8)Has great map presence(he can leave a clone in all lanes and poof there when ever needed)
9)Great against one target heroes(like blood and viper)
10)Pushes worst nightmare(in my opinion)
11)Has a base magic resistance of 35%

I could've listed more but I ran out of ideas :P

(BTW, I just joined dota fire and I'm on.my tab so sorry if I made some mistakes)

You can't say any DotA hero is the best. They are all balanced in each of their own ways. That's the point of the game! If there were a hero that is way better than all the rest, then it would take everything away from this concept that every one's equal, and you are battle with skill and experience.

About Mirana:
  • Low Int and Str stat gain
  • Poor Base damage

That's just off the top of my head. I'm sure there's more.
I don't mean to offend anyone here, I do love of play Mirana. However, suffice to say that there is NO 'best' hero in the game.

Though Meepo is indeed strong, I only have 3 reasons why you shouldn't play him.

1. It's rather easy to mess up a laning Meepo. You just have to harass him and he's pretty much down and out. Plus, he can't even last hit properly due to his horrible base damage, so any hero with average base damage can out-deny him and prevent him from farming up. If against an aggressive tri-lane, he'll pretty much be zoned out.

2. He is easy to focus down. Meepo has ****py strength gain and that means that a hero like Lina could burst him down quickly before he gets farmed.

3. HE STEALS YOUR WHOLE TEAM'S EXPERIENCE. I remember I was playing Lion or something like that with a sub-par Meepo that kept diving. He did manage to farm at such a pace such that he could hold his own against enemies, and that deprived all of us of much-needed experienced (he sat clones in the lanes we were farming and took all the creeps). Not only that, but during teamfights, when we got kills against them, all 4/5 of his Meepos were there, sapping all the experience. By 50 minutes, I was only level 14 and we lost because of our level deficit.

Though there may be less reasons, each of these reasons have a more significant impact on the game. And I didn't even mention how difficult it is to play him and how easy it is to make mistakes. So yeah, Mappo is indeed not the best hero :3.

I wouldn't say there's a best Hero, mostly because a Hero's power comes down to the user as well as it's innate strengths.

Take Kyle's example of Meepo, now in Xcalibur's hands, Meepo is terrifying, being able to be everywhere at once, and is powerful to the extent it gets respect banned in some games. Just like his Tinker. However, give that Meepo to another pro player without that same skill using the Hero, and Meepo would probably feel underwhelming. And that's not because the Hero has changed between usages, but simply the ability of the player to use said Hero is different.

If there was a best Hero, then logically the user's influence would matter much less, and the Hero would be more powerful than the rest of them even with a lousy user. But in a game like DOTA, I'd say that's never true. For the most part most Heroes are balanced with each other meaning there can be no best.

Mirana is an good Hero and highly versatile, that much is undeniable. She can be a core, she can be a support, she can be very successful in aggresive tri-lanes, she can gank. she has an escape mechanism of her own, and one that can help the entire team, or act as a free smoke for ganks. She can even transition from support to a core over the course of a game if you really need her to (Though that's arguably true of a lot of Heroes).

But likewise, she has her weaknesses as well. But that's because that is to be expected of a Hero; if a Hero had no weaknesses or counters, or ways to shut them down, then the game would be imbalanced, and not as entertaining to play as we want. We would have a very centralized game around said Heroes, as opposed to what we have now, which is a patch where almost every Hero can find some usage.

Since you just can't have enough Chaos Breaker.

there isnt a best hero(anymore) because heroes counter eachother and are better in certain situations.

but ask me a year ago and i would have said Batrider hands down. look at how much he got nerfed and he is still firstban/pick material.

Saying Mirana is the best hero in DotA is like saying Rock is the best item in "Rock Paper Scissors" :)

DotA is a game of picks and counter picks.. If there was one best hero, everyone would play only that hero ^^
