While it's all well and good to say that there is no best hero and that they each counter each other, there are definitely heroes who are better than others. Looking at pro picks objectively, we see certain heroes being picked/banned consistently, and others who are never even touched. For example, Mirana is probably the most-picked hero in competetive dota of all time, with Batrider right up there as well. Correct me if I'm wrong, of course. Still, doesn't that say something about the hero? That she can offer a team something so valuable that she's picked so often? Compared to a hero like Spirit Breaker, who is almost never picked competetively?

Let me sum up my thoughts on the issue with a quote: "All Dota 2 heroes are equal; some are just more equal than others."

actually mirana is the 9th most picked. since stats were recorded ofc. TI1 era shouldnt really be counted anyways because of the lack of heroes there was.

rubick is actually by FAR the most picked. he is picked in 40!!!! % of all games recorded.
the following ones are furion, SD and dark seer around 29%

picked or banned is by FAR batrider with 84%, followed by lifestealer and nyx around 62%

In my opinion: Phantom Lancer
Reasons
-Like Meepo late game, but more evasive
-You can escape with extreme ease
-Although it can be weak, late game the illusion overpower becomes apparent
-It is a very fun and interesting hero, and little know how to play against it.

This is just my opinion, I love this hero :)
