No. As support you really need neither of those. If you are getting attacked a lot then some HP helps, but honestly, your main items will be wards, maybe mekansm or pipe, and sheepstick if the game really lasts a while. Add a bracer or two to that maybe.
Is there a link or a post to good warding spots? I'm finding support to be my favorite so far...
I would defintnly agree with those who said lich. I have only 2 games of dota under my belt and no previous moba experience. Even though I can't last hit to save my life, I still felt useful thanks to sacrifice and triple kill ultimates that are not really hard to pull off.
I'd say that Lich is the easiest hero to pick up and play, and his denial mechanism helps you ease into last-hitting and denying friendly creeps. His armor spell is amazingly easy to utilize and is extremely useful for your team. His Q and his Mana Drain allow you to poke without relenting even for awhile once you get to around level 5.
The best/most difficult part of Lich is using his ult properly. You usually want your carries to get all the kills, but your ult can steal kills from your carries if you're not extremely careful of how you use it.
After playing almost everyday for the past two months, also coming strictly from LoL no DOTA 1 Experience at all I'd say the top 5 easiest are as follows.
NO hero is "easy" but if you have the basics down (last hitting, staying alive, etc.). Then try out Weaver. My guide is pretty fail-safe as long as you don't die a lot. I usually get 10-20 kills a game and around 1-2 deaths.
DOTAFire is the place to find the perfect build guide to take your game to the next level. Learn how to play a new hero, or fine tune your favorite DotA hero’s build and strategy.
