I mean totally players build him wrong. Instead to own with him they lose. The matches I played with a Spirit Breaker players they're like big fail most of them are lost. Players I've seen buy Power Treads, Mask of Madness that's OK. The bad thing is that they immediately after that they buy Black King Bar, instead items like Drum of Endurance, Sange and Yasha and Boots of Travel that will increase his Greater Bash damage. Sange and Yasha Drum of Endurance Boots of Travel are a fair pick on Spirit Breaker, as the bonus movespeed improves the damage of his Greater Bash as well as his general speed, improving his chasing ability even further in conjunction with it's maim. The problem is that the players don't buy these items ( Boots of Travel can be picked up later in the game) but rush a Black King Bar instead. Because Spirit Breaker's movement speed cannot be lower than 100 or greater than 522, it can't deal (before reductions) less than 10/20/30/40 damage and more than 52.2/104.4/156.6/208.8 damage. So the damage without Sange and Yasha and the other 2 considered items should be approximately 100 or 120 if I'm not wrong. Problem 2! Monkey King Bar is not picked up either well with the big number of Spirit Breaker players I've played. The Mini-Bash and Greater Bash both stack. Problem 3! Aghanim's Scepter can be built to buff Nether Strike if your team needs a powerful initiation spell, but in most cases you should opt for items that boost damage and attack speed instead. So if you want to play the Ganker role I play both Carry and Ganker with him, Aghanim's Scepter is not "stupid", "****" item like others say. In fact it's really great with 20 seconds CD and the awesome buff it has. I hope that build in the future will be changed and waiting for Volvo to update the Recommended Items for the new players (not just for Spirit Breaker but for the rest of the heroes) and also to include these items in player guides.

Black King Bar is core on basically every melee DPSer for a reason. Even moreso on Spirit Breaker now that Nether Strike can be interrupted. All the bash damage in the world is useless when you can't stop a Lion or Shadow Shaman from hexing you.

The rest of your comments I don't really have a problem with (though Daedalus will give you more DPS than Monkey King Bar 99% of the time unless you're dealing with evasion). But trying to argue that Black King Bar isn't core on SB is foolishness.

If you show me a game where a SB snowballs out of control, I'll show you a game where the losing team had little map awareness/vision and were caught out of position repeatedly.

I didn't said that Black King Bar is not a core item. I said that all rush in Black King Bar instead increasing Greater Bash damage. Here is the snowball: Your text to link here... Your text to link here...

The problem with getting Items like Sange and Yasha for Movement Speed is that Greater Bash only has a 17% chance to Trigger, so it only does damage for every (approx) 6th attack. In other words, that 208.8 Damage is only really worth 34.8 Damage. A Black King Bar gives you 26 Damage as well as Magic Immunity for less Gold.

Increasing Spirit Breaker's MS and getting Sange and Yasha to increase the damage of Greater Bash is not a wrong option on Spirit Breaker. Greater Bash is the most powerful bash in the game. Time Lock deals 40/50/60/70, 80/100/120/140 damage bonus in Chronosphere. So the skill is weaker than Greater Bash but has 25% chance on level 4. Greater Bash has 17% chance though you said it approximately can bash on probably 6 attacks. You need to calculate this mathematically in order to know how many times he will bash. Have you ever bashed or got bashed by Spirit Breaker 3-4 maybe even 5 in a matter of 1-2 seconds. When that happens most players say (even I if it happens to me): bash, bash, bash and bash and bash. Bash deals 40/50/60/70 and has 25% chance on level 4. Both Time Lock and Bash last 1 second (2 on creeps) while Greater Bash lasts 3 seconds and damage 10/20/30/40% of movement speed. From my point of view Greater Bash needs a buff it's been like that for years they can make it 20% to 22% (if you think that 25% is OP but in my opinion is not). Your core items with Spirit Breaker should be Power Treads, Mask of Madness, Sange and Yasha and Black King Bar (you can purchase Drum of Endurance if you want, but someone else can make it on your team).

First time I argue about Black King Bars being taken too early instead of too late. I think there's no reason not to rush it if you already have a team that can secure you kills: much like a Nyx Assassin, Arcane Boots and Magic Wand ( Power Treads and MoM/Drums in SB's case) are enough for your core if you keep getting assists or kills with them; you don't need a Dagon to deal extra damage and you can focus on other things like initiation (in Nyx's case with a Blink Dagger) or survivability (in SB's case with a Black King Bar). If you're playing in a safe lane though, I agree with you: making the most out of your easy laning phase is way more beneficial, especially if the enemies have no stuns; I'd still get the Armlet instead of SnY since Spirit Breaker doesn't need the maim because of his bashes and the Armlet is one of the best items in terms of cost-efficiency, but getting extra movement speed is never a bad idea for melees.

Oh, and if you want to talk about Heroes being built wrong then open a thread about Shadow Blade Vipers, which is way less useful than an SB without SnY. Well, most of the time even playing him mid is stupid in the first place.

Max dmg is 208, you cant jump that.
IMO MoM is a nooby pub item, a maelstorm into mjollnir is epic on him. Watch my replays if u want.

Yes but the main problem is increasing his Greater Bash damage in order to dominate the enemies :). Don't you ever thought that 17% chance is a little bit low and needs a buff and it's been like that for years. The buff can be 19%, 20%, 21% or 22% chance to bash. From my point of view it can be 20% or 22% chance. Spirit Breaker with increased Ms and As items bought like Monkey King Bar, Daedalus and Aghanim's Scepter can bash the **** out of hard enemy carries example when I play with Spirit Breaker against Phantom Assassin. That's the time when I most hate her cause she thinks that she has evasion and can easily kill me. With true strike and the other items I talked about also increased As and Ms, can ran her down probably in a minute or less. You will use Charge of Darkness it will stun for 2.4 seconds and Greater Bash Phantom Assassin depending on your current Ms. Chaining together Charge of Darkness with Nether Strike can deal high amounts of burst damage in a very short amount of time. Also with the upgrade to Nether Strike which will have an amazing buff and 20 seconds Cd she will be useless and also followed by bash, bash, bash, and bash along with Mini-Bash which in this case Phantom Assassin is helpless. If you have enough time to use Nether Strike in the next 20 seconds it will be cool :).

S&Y is a pretty ****ty item. id probably rather get an armlet.
BKB is also core, and much better then multiple small items.

Black King Bar should be rushed on him nearly every game, otherwise anyone with a stun can break your Charge of Darkness if they have any reflexes at all, also very important for team fights - you can't Greater Bash anyone if you're stunned.

Personally I much prefer attack speed items over damage on him, 17% per hit with no RNG means you're at the mercy of the gods without it. If your attack speed is high enough, you're throwing out enough of them that some are very likely to bash often enough to perma-stun someone.

SB can actually outcarry many "harder" carries this way.

With a good start I'd say Power Treads -> Armlet of Mordiggian -> Black King Bar -> Assault Cuirass. The Mjollnir build is possible, but I think he's more of a snowballer than a farmer so would go with the Armlet.
