To the South West, the dreaded Timminator, glared ominously as he prepared his Teamfight heavy lineup to crush the Dire. Meanwhile, Xyrus stood, shirtlessly, confident in his highly mobile army of brave (totally not cowardly) Cores capable of Bursting down Towers before their very manly retreats.
I vote for Xyrus: I would've preferred to put the Weaver in the trilane and let Clinkz go mid (Clinkz vs Slardar is pretty easy to win), but Timminator's teamfight lineup doesn't really have burst damage to kill after the setup. Weaver or Clinkz can be stopped after the combo, but one of them is probably going to survive; Clinkz is also very strong versus DS, Nyx, SD and Naga at the ~15 minute mark, provided he manages to catch them alone and silence them before they can cast Surge, Spiked Carapace, Disruption or Ensnare.
I also wouldn't have used Naga as a core; Luna or Gyrocopter would've been better for teamfights. Or, simply, you could've waited to pick the SD and go support Naga. About Slardar, I don't think he fits well in this team besides being a decent counter to Clinkz: okay, he can stun everyone after the Song of the Siren + Vacuum combo, but the Heroes listed above would've done more damage; as for countering Clinkz, I think Doom or Puck would've been better choices for the mid lane (especially Doom as he's very difficult to deal with even after the Orchid pickup). Actually, forget about Puck.
so you think you can rat? none can stand before the CARRY NAGA, AND HER MANLY FISH BOYTOY SLARDAR!! (o yes, crush my amplified radiance untill i riptide......)
HIS CRUSH(ING APPEARANCE?) WILL OBLITERATE YOUR PUNY BODY'S. YOUR CREEPS WILL BURN, YOUR SLOW SUPPORTS WILL BURN, YOU WILL RUN, WE WILL FOLLOW, WE WILL FIND YOU, UNTILL THERE IS NOWHERE LEFT ON THE MAP TO HIDE. THEN WE WILL CORNER YOU, OVERWHELM YOU. AND FORCE YOU TO EAT CAPTAIN IGLO'S FISHSTICKS.
Naga Siren as the core was definitely the right choice to counter rat dota (this is of course assuming that the team has meracle, EE, RTZ or someone else who can play Naga Siren very well as a carry to counter split pushing via intercepting the wave)

I had trouble figuring out where the Slardar would go, and as I was more concerned with Clinkz's Farm, I decided to put him in the Safe Lane. I put Windranger in the Offlane since I figured the Slardar would go Safe Lane, since Radiant didn't have an ideal Solo Safe Laner, and expected the Naga Siren to go Mid (I spent ages agonising over the Lane Setups)

True, my strategy hinges on Snowballing by Ganking and taking Towers before Dire could react. Between The Swarm + Geminate Attack, Strafe + Searing Arrows and Focus Fire, I feel I can easily take the Tier 1s in good time. The only question is, "could I take the Tier 2s fast enough?"

About the mid lane, I didn't think about putting Naga Siren there at first, but it makes a lot of sense: mid Naga was pretty popular right after the drafting system changed (dunno why, she just was), and I think she can actually be a good semi-carry. But still, Ensnare can stop Weaver and might be enough to get a kill on him anyway. Though the same applies to Clinkz.

well i wanted naga to be my hard rat carry so that is mainly why she isnt mid. she is also a bit too passive for mid, he will get her levels anyway becouse she farms really fast. slardar can do more with extra levels and needs less farm.
Yeah, I saw a couple Radiance Naga doing really well as a hard carry, but I don't think Xyrus would let you get enough gold for a Radiance; not with that lineup at least. I do like that build though. :D
And about mid Naga, she isn't that passive: you can play her as a mid Dragon Knight more or less, using your nuke for last-hitting and disabling the enemy whenever you're in danger.

Yeah, I remember seeing Liquid.TC play Naga Siren Mid a while back, he completely wiped the floor with a Queen of Pain. After that, every single match with a Naga Siren Mid seemed to win for the rest of the Tournament.
