I came from HoN, where a team could unanimously vote to surrender after a set amount of time (I think 10:00?). We all have those games that end up being a total loss after ~10 minutes, and it's a shame we have to slug through an additional 30 minute chore because there is no other option.

Because you don't need one, because stupid whiners that would just quit the game instantly after first blood, because comebacks are possible.

Because the game can always turn around, this is DotA.

Also, if all five players disconnect, the game ends, it's like surrender.

If you say "gg" in lobbies, you can surrender that way, but I doubt this will be put into pubs since it is easy to spam it and annoy your teammates, aside from that...

...this is the reason I hate playing with anything less than 4 friends

There would be a time threshold, so voting couldn't occur before 10:00 (generally long after first blood). Also it would require a unanimous vote, so one person cannot surrender for the whole team. If you don't want to surrender, just don't vote. Everyone will stay.

And yes, comebacks do happen. But many times they do not and the game is genuinely lost at 15-20 minutes. There should be an option for an entire team to decide together to safely concede the game.

DoTA is a game of comebacks, there's always room to secure a win. To me the most satisfying thing about DoTA is a close game.

Exactly what I said.. Please avoid posting just for post count, it's considered spam and it's not tolerated.

I never post for post count. I just wanted to emphasize what you said because what you said is exactly correct. Sometimes it takes someone to read it twice in order to get the message.

Regardless if its open to comebacks or not, there are games where you can just get rolled, and players continue to do dumb ****, if they put in something akin to say 30min surrender it wouldn't be bad, there isn't always a chance to comeback, sometimes you're just outmatched, it happens, there are players that are just better than what they're up against. A surrender option, placed midway would be good, just for those games where the other teams just padding their stats.
The main reason it's not in their is so people don't just give up and actually learn the game from their mistakes, in HoN and LoL people quit wayyy too damn easy. If they put one in people need to realize with a handful of the heroes in dota, sometimes 1 ultimate can turn the game, Enigma, Magnus, Earthshaker etc.
Step 1: Pick Bristleback
Step 2: type in all chat:"GL hf"
Step 3: solo offlane
Step 4: first blood triple kill solo vs trilane
Step 5: continue head butting keyboard
Step 6: don't care, Bristleback doesn't give a ****
Step 7: screenshot repeated: BB OP comments in all chat
Step 8: alternate games with Slark pick
