As I pointed out in my last post, there is a macro and micro level of classification when it comes to Dota 2 heroes. Strength, Agility, Intelligence above Initiator, Durable, Nuker, etc. etc.

As the game goes on, we see more and more heroes put through this layered classification system to result in a heroe unique from the others.

What I have come to realize, based on the way people critique my POV is that it shouldn't be the characters that I complain about, which has caused me to realize that it should be more so, the items.

My question is, with so much classification of heroes in Dota 2, how in the hell is there not some kind of organized classification of items? That is utter blasphemy if you ask me....

Let me tell you that I have tried all the builds with Centaur War Runner now, I have played him as a center laning straight carry going pure strength and hearts, I have played him as a stomp harasser from the start with boots of tranquility and wand in to a progressive combat style ending up with the boots of travel, power Ts, daedius, Sange and Yasha, etc and gone back and forth between return and hoof stomp.

Honestly, this character just doesn't turn out to be nearly as satisfying as any carry, pretty much because the items that make the most sense on him tend to be pricy and therefore require player kills to get in to the game.

Anyways, if there were items that supported and functioned with the micro roles of the game and were classified in to those roles, then I am certain that a player could attain the satisfaction he is dying for as a complete hero that doesn't have to be a carry.

For example...

Skull basher has a chance to stun with a cooldown and has a much greater chance to stun on a melee hero. Ok, so even though this is a % chance to hit item, it isn't saying to collect a lot of attack speed to make it work optimally due to the cooldown... This kind of makes since for what the item represents... a big 2 handed smasher.

This item would be classified in to the "Disabler" category.

With Centaur war runner being a disabler, the skull basher supports his disabler role by supporting and functioning well with hoof stomp.

So the skull basher could be one of the first items gotten on him. With this train of thought, our next two items might go along with the initiator role, and the tank role.

Perhaps those items would be Vanguard/Hod to support the durable role, and finally a shadow blade to support the initiator role as a way to better deal with the risky business of initiating.

But honestly, what needs to be accomplished is an even distribution and proper classification of the item pool so that gaps and item function clarity can be filled and properly functioned to synergize with the micro roles.

To all that you just said there: No.And I don't need any reasons, its just because I want to. Its how your philosophy works anyway. Good luck sir.

Disregarding the community's hate for Kyfoid, I still don't think that we need item classifications, as they're not necessary and under the item tab they already exist in a way.

And please, stop putting Centaur in your posts.

The items in the shop ARE organized. I am to lazy to look up what they are but when looking at items in game there are broken into diffent category's. This comes from dota 1 were you had many shop keeper to buy from. Each had there own specialty of item that they carried.
My lone druid starting items are 12 Iron wood branches, 6 for the hero and 6 for the bear. Even if the bear does not get stats more twigs are OP on any hero.

Yep, the shops are good as they are. Anyway, I doubt any players in competitive matches cannot remember all the major item names and their use. There's a reason for the search tab. Just type the damned name.

When I wrote the Universal Item Guide I realised just how difficult it is to categorise some items, like heroes, they don't always fit neatly into categories.

Any semi-experienced players should know all of the items, their effects, and how to make them/where they are in the shop. Same with heroes - you're just expected to know them. The classifications are there to help the 100% noobs find their way around in the beginning, nothing more
