Hey everyone :D

I recently started playing DotA 2 and I've managed to find the type of hero that I'd like to play, which is Durable Carry as you might have gathered from the title. I understand that 'Durable Carry' is a very vague hero description and what I mean by it is a carry which isn't as squishy as others.

This is where you guys come in. I was wondering whether you'd be able to recommend a few for me to try out. I plan on playing this hero a lot and so I wanted your experienced opinion on which hero(es) suits the criteria. I've found Spectre and Pudge to both look quite interesting, but I would really like your recommendations/opinions.

Thanks,
FarTooDeadly.

All str carries and agi carries with Heart of Tarrasque fit your description, so Lifestealer, Skeleton King, Sven, Dragon Knight, Huskar, Bristleback (yes he can carry), Chaos Knight, Phantom Lancer and Medusa should do.
"When game is going full ******, you can only go with it. If you start going against it, if you start going half ******, you´re ****ing done for. When Aloha decides to go middle rubick you let him, and you start buying orb of venom on invoker. That's how dota works" -n0tail

Technically speaking, Pudge isn't a carry, but he's certantly durable.

I know the exact hero you would like to play: Chaos Knight. He is REALLY tanky, and can dish out a ton of damage with his critical strike and illusions from his ultimate. I suggest you try this guy out. If you happen not to like him, you can try Skeleton King, Brewmaster (though he's a bit difficult to micro), Dragon Knight, Slardar, Alchemist, Ursa etc.

No one said spec? She is a fun tank carry with great early game but every one builds her wrong.
My lone druid starting items are 12 Iron wood branches, 6 for the hero and 6 for the bear. Even if the bear does not get stats more twigs are OP on any hero.

Pudge can Semi-Carry if he snowballs, so I'll suggest some other Tanky Semi-Carries

Easy ones that can be fun to Snowball in Pub Games: Axe, Pudge, Centaur Warrunner , Spirit Breaker

The Nukers (i.e. like Pudge, but better): Death Prophet, Timbersaw, Tiny

And some more: Beastmaster, Clockwerk, Night Stalker

P.S. How could you guys forget Summon Spirit Bear?!!! D8

Yeah, she's a very hard carry, but with enough farm you usually finish up a Heart with her to make her super tanky and the reflect damage is nice as well.

Spectre is already mentioned in his OP, so yeah.

Close to being useless early, very good late if given the farm.

So if I plan on learning to play Spectre well should I learn how to last hit and farm well on her?

Also what kind of playstyle does she have? Passive in early then aggressove in late?

Thanks.
