Rod of Atos usefull or needless ?

I thought about using Rod of Atos on some Intel Heroes.... but there are always items more needed or more usefull at the moment....

Maybe someone else have some idea in wich kind of item build and on wich hero Rod is usefull....
or is Rod of Atos just needles compared to other items ?

I don't like it at all.. single heroes that it might work on are Silencer and Outworld Devourer.

It looks like a great item - you get a bonus +5 intel, +75 hp AND a slow on top of the raw cost of the parts - sounds good?

The issue is that for 1000 more you can get an Orchid, for 2000 more you can get a sheepstick - both of which have a far better active. Sometimes I'll get it on Outworld Devourer or Silencer, but it's kinda difficult to justify...

Works great in conjunction with Shiva's Guard. Not only does it give more Int and Survivability, but great utility.

I agree with xCO2 here,if you're looking for survivability,go for Atos.Its like the Vanguard made for INT heroes.

Something not common but absolutely great if getting early farm is an Atos on Dark Seer, really allows you to pick off roamers and supports.

That's a lot of farm though.

Well when you're an Int Carry, you generally get farm. These would work well with Necrolyte, as he relies on durability.

It's good on some heroes, but the problem with it currently is that there always seems to be a better item you can get. For instance, Orchid gives a silence and amplify damage, plus it gives attack speed, damage, intelligence and mana regen. Sheepstick gives int, mana regen, stats, and a hex. Atos gives a sometimes helpful slow, some int, and HP. Orchid and Sheepstick just always seem to overshadow Atos.

Response: "I think a lot has to do with the price. Rod of Atos is asking players to throw down 3100 for a slow that is mainly an offensive tool and int/health stats. It's perfect for Outworld Devourer because all the stats are exactly what he wants and the active is perfect for his play style. However, Force Staff is a much cheaper item and can be used offensively as well as defensively on any target you choose. Perhaps if dev team patched the item to produce an aoe slow (say 150 radius), Atos might be picked up more often."
