Welcome to my list of item concepts! They are arranged from-best-to-worst arbitrarily ranked by how I loved the item myself. So, generally speaking, I encourage y'all to definitely check out ranked 4-5, while I implore you to tread 1-2 star ranked items with discretion.
★★★★★ = A beautifully thought out item that I can definitely see will work within an actual game of Dota 2.
★★★★ = Good concept. But there are hindrances that could say otherwise like: there's already an existing item that could serve its purpose, very good for very few heroes, etc.
★★★ = Perhaps a little gimmicky for it's own good. But, it may find itself really wonderful if it exists on a custom game instead.
★★ = Very bad item to exist in practice and has extreme meme potential. But not totally garbage.
★ = Totally garbage. But I'm not gonna delete them because they're already written and I put effort on them.
★★★★★
- - PYTHON SHIV - -
A 'common' blade made venomous through countless black rituals.
Passive : Poison Attack - Poisons attack target for slow and damage over time. (no difference to Orb of Venom)
Move Slow : 15% (Ranged: 4%)
DPS : 4
Duration: 2 Passive : Python Strike - When off cooldown, the next attack applies a 60% slow(ranged: 30%) that degrades for 3 seconds. Dealing 10 poison damage every second. COOLDOWN : 7
NOTES :
Uses the same debuff with Orb of Venom meaning it does not stack. The slow and damage depends whichever value is highest.
MY THOUGHTS :
A mid game option for Orb of Venom that suits incredibly well for melee roamers like Bounty Hunter and Riki. Dota2 lacks slowing items for the early game outside of orb with the next cheapest item that slows being the unreliable Sange(1950).
The item apparently buffs roamers, and in my experience, Icefrog hate roamers.
★★★★
- - EMPYREAN EYE - -
The greatest gift of the Omniscience that grants its bearers... omniscience.
Passive : True Sight for 900 radius around the bearer. Drops on death. 100% Shareable.
Aura Linger Duration: 0.5 Active : Sky Beacon - 900 radius flying vision and true sight for 10 seconds. True sight around the bearer is lost while active.
Cast Range : 1500 MANA COST: 150 COOLDOWN : 15
NOTES:
Has a visual with a boundary that's visible to everyone.
MY THOUGHTS :
It allows for ultra late game vision. Allowing the gem to be held by back-line squishies.
Also a counter to Nightstalker.
It's droppable and VERY expensive because come on, it's a super reliable 900 AoE flying vision and true sight! This item will definitely shift how the game is played on-par with Divine Rapier purchases!
Item is close to 5-star for me.
★★★★
- - OBSERVER TRAP - -
A sly modification to the half-sentient cultivations. Its mind will linger to anyone it came in contact with.
Observer Ward(0) + Dust of Apperance(80) + Recipe(85) = 165g
Active : Set Observer Trap - Plants the Observer Trap on target location. Enemy heroes that walk in its 200 trigger radius will cause it to release a smoke signal, giving debuffs to all enemy heroes and their summons that grant vision and true sight over them. Lasts 25 Seconds.
Cast Range : 100
Trap Duration : 6 minutes
Trigger Radius : 200
Effect Radius : 1200
Duration : 25 COOLDOWN : 1
NOTES:
Only provides 200 ground vision while set.
Can trigger even by invisible and flying units,
The activation can affect invisible and flying units too.
Has a global audio cue to the team so they can be warned. This sound is only local to the enemies that triggered it.
MY THOUGHTS :
Its use is analogically the same to observer wards as dust of appearance is to sentry wards. Whether you want a steady source of constant, but static vision or a more dynamic, but reliable vision.
Except, yeah. Observer Trap has vision AND true sight! Which makes it definitely a lot better than observer or dust.
Sacrificing an Observer Ward forces players to decide carefully before purchasing.
Alta's non-magical bags are just really space efficient.
Basic item(1250g)
no stats
Active / Toggle : Bag of Holding - Opens up a new inventory space with 5 slots replacing the main inventory. Only items listed in "Consumables" section can be placed in this holding space.
NOTES:
The Bag of Holding takes up the same slot in your 'real' inventory as it is in the 'holding' inventory. Hence there's only 5 slots for consumables.
To return to the main inventory, activate the Bag of Holding again.
Item stats and passives in main inventory will not be gone, only your ability to press their actives.
Dropping the bag of holding will also drop all of its contents randomly scattered on the ground.
Buying consumables automatically places them inside the bag.
MY THOUGHTS :
Late-game consumables anyone? scale in the late game now, thanks to regen amplification! But they still lag behind the late game meta because of inventory space. This item solved this issue.
Allow a rich support to just apply salves and clarities willy-nilly to anyone who needs them.
Yes, it stores wards too for more quality life for supports.
★★★
- - ROYAL BARREL - -
The long-lived creator of this barrel was appointed as a king for having such a glamourous liqour holder.
+3 All Stats
+0.5 HP Regen
+0.5 MP Regen
+15% HP Regen Amplification
+15% MP Regen Amplification
Passive : Store Power - Runes can be stored in the Royal Barrel for later use, and are activated automatically after 2 minutes. Any runes grant 6 charges. And also, 1 charge whenever a visible enemy within 1200 range uses an ability. Max of 20 charges.
CHARGE PER RUNE : 6
CHARGE PER ENEMY SPELL CAST : 1
LIMIT RANGE : 1200 Passive : Great Damage Block - Consumes charges to block any type of damage whenever the user took 50+ damage from any sources.
CHARGE COST : 2
DAMAGE BLOCK : 120 COOLDOWN : 7 Active / Toggle : Battle Banquet - Activating toggles item on/off. Consumes 1 charge of drink every 3 seconds to instantly restore health and mana both in large bursts and subtle regeneration.
BURST HP HEAL : 20
BURST MP HEAL : 10
HP REGEN : 10
MP REGEN : 5
REGEN DURATION : 3 COOLDOWN : 0
NOTES:
Store Power ▼
Activating runes while still keeping a rune activates the targeted rune and is not stored, but charges are fully gained.
Great Damage Block ▼
can block all 3 damage types.
It's cooldown is internal and cannot be seen. But there should be some visual cue whenever it triggers and visual change to the item icon when it's ready/not ready.
Battle Banquet ▼
Heals a total of 50 HP and 25 MP per 1 charge.
Heals a total of 1000HP and 500 MP in the course of 60 seconds by using up all 20 charges and if no instances were dispelled.
The auto-consume will not activate stored runes. Runes must be activated manually.
Heal over time dispellable by bottle rules.
While there's a rune stored, toggling OFF will simply toggle the Banquet off without using the rune. Then, you cannot toggle the ability ON unless the rune has been used.
MY THOUGHTS :
With the introduction of HP regen & MP regen amplification from stats. Consumables actually scale into the late game now. So I thought of something to make a consumable upgrade.
I think I made it too powerful though. 100HP/500MP total heal for 20 charges!? Thankfully, one needs to spend 60 seconds to heal that much.
In my efforts to balance out the Bottle and Wand abilities, the clutch save potential of Wand is lost and this item has lower Heal per second compared to Bottle.
★★★
- - THUNDERBREATHER - -
The tool Mazekeepers used to torture and keep track of their subjects.
Passive : Aethereal Focus - +250 cast range to targeted spell and item abilities. Active : Aether Crackle - Deals high damage to enemies in target AoE. Affected units are debuffed that grants true sight and increases damage taken.
CAST RANGE : 850 (600 + 260)
RADIUS : 325
DAMAGE : 400 (MAGICAL)
DAMAGE INCREASE : 20%
DURATION : 8 MANA COST : 200 COOLDOWN : 35
NOTES:
Increases damage from all sources except HP removal.
Grants the debuff first, then the damage.
Ironically cannot target invisible heroes.
Shares cooldown with dagons.
Cannot be leveled up by Dagon recipes.
MY THOUGHTS :
Another late game item for spell casters.
It also has a secondary true sight component, allowing for late game detection that isn't Gem of True Sight. The only downside is that the enemy have to be visible first!
★★
- - ALTHEIA'S SPEARSTAFF - -
The great weapon of a combat wizard that gives unfathomable accuracy and foresight.
+15 Str
+15 Agi
+450 mana
+1.5 mana regen
+150 Attack Range
+250 Cast Range Active : Ethereal Realm - Conjures an ethereal realm on a 400 radius AoE. The user can attack and cast spells in that AoE regardless where the user is on the map.
CAST RANGE : 1000 (750 + 250)
RADIUS : 400
DURATION : 8 MANA COST : 200 COOLDOWN : 85
NOTES:
Affects items.
Does not provide vision.
Melee attacks attacks should not miss from the 400 melee range limit.
The Ethereal Realm active only affects cast range. It does NOT modify effect length, travel distance, etc. This means Venomous Gale, Ice Path, Impale, will still travel normally. Even Blink, Time Walk are not modified since their cast range is global in the first place.
MY THOUGHTS :
The active may look ridiculous on some spells. Imagine a 1600+ range Duel, *shivers* Black Hole, Fiend's Grip, etc. But after 7.07, there's really nothing much that can surprise me now.
Please be reminded that this item is VERY expensive and is SUPER gimmicky but can replace Enigma's reliance on BKB + blink
Seems like Enigma and Outworld Devourer are the only heroes who will buy this though.
Self-activating Hand of Midas II = 3040 Reliable gold.
So if you have 1650 gold to spare, buy Hand of Midas II. 3040 - 1075 = 1965 So it means you get 890 MORE gold compared to just selling Hand of Midas. You converted most unreliable gold you have into reliable gold too.
MY THOUGHTS:
Braindead item. Does not add anything to the game.
★
- - GHOSTBLADE - -
It was thought to have been stolen. But was found when its previous owner fell from his bed and got stabbed by it.
Passive : Permanent invisibility - Becomes permanently invisible. Using items(except this item), casting spells, or attacking breaks the invisibility.
FADE DELAY : 5 Active : Ghostfade - Exactly like blink but using it immediately triggers the passive invisibility. COOLDOWN : 15
NOTES:
Enemies cannot see/hear the blink visual/audio at the targeted point.
MY THOUGHTS :
Heavily reworked from the OP slark ult active to what you see now. still OP? I thought CM would love this at first I made it but I realized that ulting immediately breaks the invi.
I really loved PYTHON SHIV a very solid build on almost all ranged heroes who can use good slows e.g. Huskar (yes him)
THUNDERBREATHER is really debatable very good but very expensive i think OD and tinker will like it. oh and nuker BS as well.
GHOSTBLADE ..... NOPE TOO STRONG
EMPYREAN EYE the recipe is just a little high, you know just tiny bit (hope you get it that the recipe is just too f**king high for comfort)
