Chen getting nerfed a bit, sure. Chen getting a huge nerf like that while Invoker lost 1 armor (lol) and other "actual" meta heroes weren't even touched, feels pretty unfair.

Chen had by far and away the highest winrate of heroes in the Major qualifiers. Hell, across the patch he's got one of the highest competitive winrates at 69.1% across 97 games (Highest of any hero with ~100 or more games played by like 10%). It is not surprising that he got a large nerf as a result of that. I know you hate looking at just raw numbers in a vacuum, but that is still saying a lot here

In comparison Invoker has 55.8% across 217 games, which is far less insane.

It's really sad to see such a large nerf, but it was pretty justified given the hero was starting to dominate the meta.

Okay, fair enough. I didn't realize he was picked that much actually. Still one of the biggest nerfs I've ever seen in quite some time.

Yeah, but the buffs to the ancient creeps means Ag's is still a good item.

It's just really weird to see the cooldown reduction gone entirely instead of just reduced. Like down to 60 or 80s.

When there is like 100k times more ppl playing pubs where heroes are an actual problem since you can't always coordinate your team to deal with them or just first phase ban them.

Seriously, when you balance a 7mil playerbase game around 80 players, even if they are the best players in the world, there's something wrong with you.

****'s still the same though, Invoker is just a new WR, except that complete idiots stay away from him, hence the higher winrate. Still, most Invokers I see play like they are both physically and mentally disabled, standing AFK behind the creepwave with Cold Snap and Alacrity invoked FTW.

Well Chen changes are supposed to be based around competitive, that's the only place where the hero is relevant anyways.

It's not an excuse for pub dota being imbalanced a hell though, but that's another story. Question here was simply to know whether Chen was *that* broken in competitive to justify such a huge nerf. Peronally I didn't feel like he was more that just situationally strong and a tiny bit overbuffed at most with the 6.86 changes, and stats on a small sample like 100 games mean very little anyways...but I can be wrong.

Chen is quite a problem in 6k+ avg games AFAIK. Some players complained about him and stats in "Meta" section of Dotobuff tell that either. Chen spammers are just swimming in free pts.
