It's just Hamster, he's really radical about some things sometimes.

I don't think you can even get a positive Techies winrate or even raise from 1K to 1.5K MMR by killing scrubs with that stuff :)
I know at least 2 players that got 1 and 1.5K MMR with Techies(though admittedly most of it was 5-6 months ago, which still doesn't deny the fact, because Techies was even weaker then), I'm not sure about the initial rating, but it's 100% higher than 4k, 4.5k probably. None of them was using scripts AFAIK, but that's actually besides the point. One of them has 70%+ wr and 6+ KDA on Techies btw.
I understand you may hate Techies or just get an impression of them as a bad hero from your games, but pls don't project it upon the game in general and take it as an absolute truth, and get present your opinions as facts. No offense.

And from every stream I ever watched with streamers like Bulldog, Draskyl, and a ton of other high rated players who ***** about the hero 10 times more than Sando and me combined for ruining their games and having zero impact.
And as I said Techies pickers who pick *nothing* but this hero every game without any consideration of lineup are literally game losing since he's an ultra niche hero at best, which means a terrible pick in the vast majority of games.

It's not just my opinion. Techies doesn't just ruin *my* games. So none taken...because it just doesn't apply to what I said.
Besides, I'm taking the time to reply to your criticism guys...but maybe I should just not answer and say that you're going off topic...because you are.
Messed up the quouting by accident, still thanks. But I think you are still wrong.
Just take a look at dotabuffs top techies. (any of them)
640 games 80% winrate. Doesn't matter if he stacks non stop with friends or something, enemy team can still counter him.
I've played with a bunch of pub techies. Sure, many off them suck, but some of them completely wreck the enemy team and win us the game.
Also, spamming techies isn't any diffrent from spamming a hero like brood, so it's not just them that can ruin games.
All I wanted to say from the start, techies in the right hands is an amazing hero.

That's just how this hero is - annoying, but not necessarily effective. While heroes like Invoker have a very high skill cap, Techies requires practice and skill in order to not be utter trash. But that doesn't mean he is ****. And you can't get your MMR up by 1k+ by picking a niche hero. Before any claims that I've made these up follow, here are bothguys, and I'm sure there are more.

I see. I'm not going to argue about that because it makes no sense and this topic is truly getting off the rails. Fine, let it be.
Just to throw it out there, PPD has said on stream, post TI where he has literally a million reasons to love the hero, that it is the most broken hero in the game right now. He also said that just because most of the playerbase can't play him doesn't mean he's not broken.
Aui still wants it banned from Captain's Mode, again despite the fact he has a million reasons to love the hero.
So it's really past the point where Techies is a joke hero. The difference is, again most people can't play him.
Partially because he's like Brood, he changes what game you are playing when he's picked.

37 pick/bans in TI5. About 1/10 of the pick/ban rate of Qop, Leshrekt and Gyro. Hardly 6.83 Troll or 6.81 Void material :)
If he was so OP in competitive, he would be at least slightly contested in the picking stage. I mean, drafters did their homework before coming to TI5...they're supposed to know what they're doing. The numbers show that Techies after some *massive* buffs finally got his place as a niche hero in competitive because he's really good at grabbing early kills with suicide and early pushing, I see nothing else there.
His datdota standing isn't more impressive...with his 21 picks in the patch compared to the 300-something of meta heroes.
He's not a joke hero...but he's an ultra-niche pick. If PPD thinks he's that broken, why doesn't he draft him in every game? He very clearly doesn't.
It's true though that his winrate in pubs has gone up from the very bottom of the list since he was introduced. I'm still very skeptical about those numbers though...for example QoP being at 45% is the biggest joke ever. His winrate rising actually happened before 6.84 so it's pretty confusing. Doesn't match what I see in pubs in any way. I'd like to see where it gets in a few months, it tends to fluctuate a lot.
Most of Dotabuff statistics come from very low-skill games, like majority of the games these stats are formed from are sub-3k I think, maybe a bit higher. So Dbuff stats are never a pointer of anything having/not having success in Dota.
Doesn't cancel that Techies is not an ultra-niche pick otherwise it wouldn't be ossible to spam him with a 55%+ winrate like some players do.
He did come into the meta later than the other meta heroes? His numbers were always going to be down compared to **** like Gyro QoP or Lesh, who were viewed strong from the start of the patch. Like before ESL he was a complete joke in terms of actual viewpoint. Then people like s4 started going on record saying he was legit, then he had his great time in the TI groups where iirc he went unbeaten except against EG where they just wrecked the Tusk Techies combo.
Then EG started picking him up solo - Without a Tusk, or a Tiny. If they didn't think the hero had it's worthwhile merits, they wouldn't pick him solo. It wasn't even part of push strats.
As for another reason as to why his pick-rate is low; China does not play the hero. Now, you can argue this might be evidence for the hero still being trash, but China has a pretty well known example of where they simply did not play or value a hero for the longest time, and got consitently wrecked by the west using it;
Like again; PPD said that 90% of the player base can't use the hero - Do you honestly think this can't stretch to Pro players given that most people viewed it as a joke hero before the later ends of this patch? CDEC are a great example of pro players who simply can't play a powerful hero; Leshrac.
And we didn't see EG play post TI5 with Aui in the line-up - Do you really think teams would've left it unbanned? I would like to point out that after EG swept the floor with EHOME with Techies it was banned every single game against them for the rest of the event.
That's 7 straight techies bans. 7 straight first phase techies bans. If that's not saying something about the hero, what is?
