Spell Steal can be a handy dandy spell when the proper situations present themselves. Though I've been thinking; what if, just for the sake of conversation, Rubick could steal passives in addition to active spells?
For the sake of conversation as well, what do you think about this:
Aghanim's Scepter upgrade on Rubick:
Change current upgrade into "Stolen spell receives Aghanim's Scepter upgrade. Add additional skill: Power Steal"
[F] Power Steal: Rubick steals a passive skill of an enemy unit, it has the same cost, cooldown and cast range of Spell Steal, but with independent cooldown. If the target has two or more passive, last triggered passive will be taken.
Anyway, on the topic, I think a Rubick with grow! will be funny as ****
or what about Flesh Heap? It complements well with null field and the tankiness of Rubick will be funny to see
How many of them would actually make sense on a support? Liketally none.
Half of the passives only make sense on carries. The other half only makes sense on extremely tanky front-line heroes...the complete opposite of Rubick.
The closest thing to something even remotely useful on a support would be something like Incapacitating Bite, for permaslow and miss chance.
If there's one passive I'd like to have on Rubick, it's Silencer's intelligence steal. Rubick has big mana issues and can't afford mana regen items, and I really like the idea of Rubick getting smarter from seeing real-life battles, it fits the hero concept perfectly :)
Actually there's a couple; Inner Beast works because it's an aura, and Curse of Avernus is fine on a ranged hero, Untouchable is good because you become tanky as a result, Presence of the Dark Lord as well because it's a good aura, Vengance Aura and Vampiric Aura as well. And well Static Field would be crazy with Rubicks Ag's cooldown reduction.
Any of the invisibilites are fine as well, and probably Essence Aura.
So really there's a lot of Aura's that are alright anyhow on Rubick
